At present time, the main purpose of these institutions that provide vocational training in accordance with two-year education programs is: to provide the breeding of of well-qualified manpower who may be able to adapt to scientific and technological developments and provide quality production that needed by business life. In the process of training the students of vocational school in accordance with these qualifications, educational partnerships that are established with the collaboration of both university and industry have become very important. In order to substantiate the necassary cooperation in this partnership Marmara University Vocational School of Technical Sciences has started a project. In this project work, within the inclusion of students, industry and academic staff, three surveys have been conducted in order to collect data. The survey applications that have been carried out included, firstly, the thoughts of the vocational school's students about the education provided in Vocational School of Technical Sciences (T.B.M.Y.O); secondly, their thought of the sector's cooperation with vocational schools and the evaluation of the graduates performances. Thirdly, another survey regarding the adequacy of the training fields and the students of the vocational schools was conducted and it's reviews have been addressed. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. Research universe is the students at Marmara University, TEF, TBMYO. The data of the study is collected by using Student Profile Survey developed by the users. TEF and TBMYO students are considered comparatively and statistical analysis has been carried out. At the end of the study, it is concluded that the expectation levels of the students are high whereas the satisfaction levels are low. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. Designed for Distance Vocational Training and Education, this system uses the LabVIEW Virtual Instrumentation Program to control lighting levels. In this program, the interface developed allows students to control and monitor applications online using cameras, sensors, and controllers. In the modeled system, the lighting levels of LED lamps are controlled through PID controllers. Furthermore, a web page was designed that provides synchronized (simultaneous) access to application instrumentation for the students. Each user can run applications in a specific period through this website. Students can also monitor the lighting level of the laboratory in real-time with a webcam. Individual storage of the data obtained in the model also supports conducting necessary analyses. Students can strengthen their theoretical knowledge by running lighting technique experiment applications with real equipment in the Distance Vocational Training and Education. In the evaluation part of the research, the answers are given by the students (95%) also stated that they increased the theoretical knowledge of doing remote experiments. In total 98.5% of students believe that the ability to repeat experiments anywhere in this system will accelerate the learning process.Publication Open Access A Study on Electrical Properties of Nanofiber Composites: Effects of PCL/AgNO3/ZnO Concentration Percentages(2022-06-01) POLAT, ZÜHAL; ATİŞ, SELÇUK; TERZİ, ÜMİT KEMALETTİN; Kurt U., Atis S., Polat Z., Tektas M., Terzi Ü. K.Nanofibers with multifunctional properties hold great promise as they allow components for a wide range of medical applications. In this study, zinc oxide, silver nitrate and Polycaprolactone were used in the production of nanofiber composite material by coaxial electrospinning process. PCL concentrations of 5, 10, and 15% by weight were utilized in all of the samples, and different amounts of silver nitrate and zinc oxide were used. Functional groups of silver nitrate, zinc oxide, and Polycaprolactone materials were determined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Morphological analyzes were carried out with scanning electron microscopy. For all solutions, before coaxial electrospinning, physical properties such as density, liquid state ac conductivity, and viscosity were measured. For the 20 Hz-3 MHz frequency range, after coaxial electrospinning, D-factors and capacitance of nanofiber composite materials were measured and dielectric loss, permittivity, and the solid-state alternating current conductivity were calculated for all solutions. The effects of silver nitrate, zinc oxide, and Polycaprolactone concentration percentages on the solid-state ac conductivity and the dielectric constant were analyzed and comparisons were made with the results obtained.Publication Open Access Internship education analysis of vocational school students(ELSEVIER SCIENCE BV, 2010) ÇINAR, AYŞE; Polat, Zuhal; Uzmanoglu, Selcuk; Isgoren, Nuriye Cevik; Cinar, Ayse; Tektas, Necla; Oral, Bekir; Buyukpehlivan, Gulhan; Ulusman, Leyla; Oznaz, Demet; Uzunboylu, HThe main purpose of vocational and technical education is to make the individuals gain; knowledge, ability, and practice sufficiency which are needed for particular occupation. On the other hand the main function is to make the individual provide financial income and with this be useful to society at social and economic ways. Vocational and technical education has great affection power at development of country's economy with human labor qualities. For this reason, in the developed countries vocational and technical education has special importance. In the developed countries; for more strong economy and more rapid social development, more qualified work labor is need to be provided. With this purpose, an effort is made to develop vocational and technical education. In Turkey, vocational schools are one of the most important education institutions at raising qualified human power. It is aimed the vocational school students to have more theoretical knowledge than technical man, and more practice ability than engineers by graduating with technician title. The cooperation between university and industry has importance at vocational school graduates having these abilities. In the education programs; students must continue a part of their education at industrial companies for 30 working days duration. This process is named as internship and it is necessary for the students to graduate. Students can find various abilities during the period where they were at the companies. In this study; it is aimed to analyze the expectations from internship education, and the gained knowledge and abilities of Marmara University Vocational School of Technical Sciences students. According to this, an answer is searched to the question What kind of knowledge and abilities do the vocational school students gain during the internship period? The universe of this study is the students studying at Marmara University Vocational School of Technical Sciences programs. It is goaled to discuss the education partnership between vocational school and industry according to the knowledge and abilities the students gained during the internship period. For this reason; with the purpose of fitting to developing technologies; through the cooperation with industry, the education programs in vocational schools, which educate occupation, should be updated orderly. In this sense; who successfully gives education in between present facilities, and who refreshes itself according to new technologies to give more active and dynamic education; the Marmara University Vocational School of Technical Sciences started an infrastructural development project, to strengthen the cooperation between industries related to the programs in the vocational school. In the scope of the talked project; parallel to the developing technologies the subjects about; infrastructural development, making update on course name or course contents, developing laboratory and workshops’ technological infrastructure, developing training course facilities, building research-development center, and according to the practice ability of graduation projects in industry developing common goods takes place. In this study; the industry survey results according to the programs in vocational school related to industries is examined. Research results provided contribution to determine industries’ present situation and their expectations from vocational schools.Publication Open Access Evaluation of educational and technical structure at vocational schools(2010-01-01) ULUSMAN, LEYLA; UZMANOĞLU, MUSTAFA SELÇUK; ÖZNAZ, DEMET; ORAL, BEKİR; ÇINAR, AYŞE; ACAR BÜYÜKPEHLİVAN, GÜLHAN; İŞGÖREN, AYŞE NURİYE; POLAT, ZÜHAL; Uzmanoğlu M.
