DesignA three-round e-mail-based Delphi study was conducted between May and July 2015 with a national sample. SampleNinety-one academics from 54 universities were invited as experts to participate by e-mail. Fifty-nine academics from 43 universities participated in the study. MeasurementsData were analyzed by computing the median, quartiles one and three, and the interquartile range for each learning outcome and topic. Consensus was considered as less than the interquartile range of 1.2. ResultsExperts who participated in the study added 70 learning outcomes, eight main topics, and 278 sub-topics during the first round. Round I generated 170 learning outcomes, 28 main topics, and 385 sub-topics. At the end of Round II, consensus was reached on 126 learning outcomes, 22 main topics and 168 sub-topics. At the end of Round III, consensus was achieved for 126 learning outcomes, 22 main topics, and 169 sub-topics. ConclusionThe learning outcomes and topics that were decided upon through a consensus process will contribute to the standardization and development of PHN education.Publication Metadata only The Family Management of Childhood Chronic Conditions: Measurement in a Turkish Sample(ELSEVIER SCIENCE INC, 2019) ERGÜN, AYŞE; Ergun, Ayse; Sisman, Fatma Nevin; Erol, Saime; Gur, Kamer; Kolac, Nurcan; Kadioglu, HasibePurpose: The principal aim of this study was to adapt the FaMM into the Turkish language and test its validity and reliability. Design and methods: Data were collected from a total of 395 parents of children with chronic disease. The FaMM was translated using the translation and back-translation method. The reliability analysis of the FaMM was performed using Cronbach alpha coefficients, item-total correlations and test-retest correlations. Construct validity for the scale was assessed with confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and exploratory factor analysis (EFA). Results: The overall content validity index was 95%, signifying that the FaMM has good content validity. The CFA of the Turkish version of the FaMM did not confirm the original factorial structure. The model of three subscales for the Turkish FaMM was validated using EFA. The values of >= 0.70 for the Cronbach alpha coefficient, >0.25 for the item-total correlations and >0.40 for the test-retest application correlations for 2 weeks were found to be acceptable levels for the instruments and its subscales. Conclusions: The FaMM was found to be valid, reliable and appropriate for Turkish culture and psychometric characteristics were satisfactory. Practice implications: The FaMM can be used in evaluating the management of illness in families with children with chronic disease. (C) 2019 Elsevier Inc. N.Aim: To investigate public health nursing content in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Turkey. Methods: This study included all of the nursing schools in Turkey that provide university level education. The data were collected through a self-administered questionnaire designed to identify the existing status of undergraduate and postgraduate public health nursing education between February 2011 and June 2011. The questionnaire was completed only by the head of the department of public health nursing in each school. Data were analysed with descriptive statistics using SPSS for Windows 17.0 software. Results: The study achieved a response rate of 72.5%. All participants reported offering a course in public health nursing in their undergraduate programmes. Fourteen (24.1%) participants reported offering Master of Science degrees in public health nursing. Seven (12.1%) participants reported offering doctorate degrees in public health nursing. In the responding schools, the public health nursing course was given in one semester (14 weeks) for an average of 5.54 +/- 1.43 h/week for theory and an average of 13.48 +/- 5.11 h/week for clinical practice. Of the participants, 43 (74%) reported problems related to public health nursing education. Conclusion: There are problems in Turkey with regard to public health nursing education. The nursing school curriculum must be revised on a national level if public health nursing is to be revived and strengthened.Publication Open Access Alexithymia in nurses and its relationship with burnout, anger, and somatization(KARE PUBL, 2020) KADIOĞLU, HASİBE; Korkmaz, Ebru Konal; Telli, Sibel; Kadioglu, Hasibe; Karaca, SemraPublication Metadata only Epidemiyoloji/sağlık eğitimi(Ankara Nobel Tıp Kitabevi, 2021-01-01) KADIOĞLU, HASİBE; KADIOĞLU H.; Koyuncu, Aynur; Yava, AylaPublication Open Access A curriculum development project for a school nursing certification program in Turkey: A delphi study(2023-03-01) KADIOĞLU, HASİBE; Ozdemir I. N., KADIOĞLU H.Objective: School nursing education has not been standardized in Turkey so that it was decided the Delphi technique would be used to develop a curriculum for a program of education in school nursing. Methods: The data were collected from the expert panel via the Delphi technique by means of e-mail. Data were collected in three consecutive Delphi rounds. The population of the study comprised academic nurses and school nurses working in the area of school nursing in Turkey. A total of 83 experts were invited to participate in the study. The data were evaluated in terms of Quartile 1, Quartile 3, medians, interquartile ranges. Interquartile range refers to the difference between Quartile 3 and 1. Consensus was considered as less than the interquartile range of 1.2.Results: At the end of Round-1, 177 learning outcomes, nine main topics, 262 sub-topics were obtained. At the end of Round-2, 167 learning outcomes, nine main and 255 sub-topics were gathered, while at the end of Round-3, agreement was reached regarding nine main topics, 255 sub-topics, 167 learning outcomes, thus ending the Delphi rounds. Conclusions: The curriculum on which agreement was reached will be treated as a guide to school nursing education and contribute to the standardization of this instruction.Publication Open Access Validity and Reliability of the Turkish Version of the Acceptance of Cosmetic Surgery Scale (ACSS)(KARE PUBL, 2017) KARAKOÇ, AYŞE; Karaca, Semra; Karakoc, Ayse; Onan, Nevin; Kadioglu, HasibeObjectives: Because cosmetic/aesthetic surgery has increased dramatically worldwide, it is necessary to evaluate the reasons and psychosocial situation of the persons proposing to undergo this surgery before any surgical intervention. The aims of the current study were to examine the validity and reliability of the Acceptance of Cosmetic Surgery Scale (ACSS) among Turkish persons. Methods: This methodological study was conducted with 584 participants. Content and construct validity studies were carried out to test the validity of the scale. The construct validity was analyzed with confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). For the scale's reliability, the techniques of internal consistency and consistency over time were used. Results: The Turkish adaptation of the ACSS was found to be valid, exhibiting a content validity index in the range of 0.80-1 on the item level, and 0.90 at the scale level. The scale displayed a three-factor structure. The total Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the scale was 0.92; the Cronbach's alpha coefficient for Factor 1 (Interpersonal) was 0.81; and 0.86 for Factor 2 (Social). The Cronbach alpha coefficient for Factor 3 (Consider) was 0.90. Conclusion: The ACSS is a valid and reliable tool that can be used in assessing acceptance of cosmetic surgery.
