Publication Open Access A curriculum development project for a school nursing certification program in Turkey: A delphi study(2023-03-01) KADIOĞLU, HASİBE; Ozdemir I. N., KADIOĞLU H.Objective: School nursing education has not been standardized in Turkey so that it was decided the Delphi technique would be used to develop a curriculum for a program of education in school nursing.Methods: The data were collected from the expert panel via the Delphi technique by means of e-mail. Data were collected in three consecutive Delphi rounds. The population of the study comprised academic nurses and school nurses working in the area of school nursing in Turkey. A total of 83 experts were invited to participate in the study. The data were evaluated in terms of Quartile 1, Quartile 3, medians, interquartile ranges. Interquartile range refers to the difference between Quartile 3 and 1. Consensus was considered as less than the interquartile range of 1.2.Results: At the end of Round-1, 177 learning outcomes, nine main topics, 262 sub-topics were obtained. At the end of Round-2, 167 learning outcomes, nine main and 255 sub-topics were gathered, while at the end of Round-3, agreement was reached regarding nine main topics, 255 sub-topics, 167 learning outcomes, thus ending the Delphi rounds.Conclusions: The curriculum on which agreement was reached will be treated as a guide to school nursing education and contribute to the standardization of this instruction.Publication Open Access The effect of the health belief model-based educational program on physical activity beliefs and behaviors of university students(2022-11-01) KADIOĞLU, HASİBE; ÇİFTCİ N., KADIOĞLU H.Aim This study was conducted to determine the effect of the education program based on the Health Belief Model (HBM) on the physical activity beliefs and behaviors of university students. Subject and methods This quasi-experimental study was carried out with one experiment and one control group where a pre-test and post-test were applied to the participant. The study included 129 participants (experimental group = 61, control group = 68) studying at two universities between March-September 2019. A 4-week HBM-based training program was applied to the students in the experimental group. Data were collected with the \"Personal Information Form,\" \"International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ)\" and \"Exercise Health Belief Model Scale (EHBMS).\" Chi-square test, T-test for dependent and independent groups, Wilcoxon sign test, and Mann-Whitney U tests were used in the evaluation of the data. Result The EHBMS (p = 0.009) and MET (p=0.000) total score averages of the experimental group were found to be statistically significantly higher than the control group in the post-test. Conclusion We determined that the HBM-based education program implemented within the scope of this study positively affects the physical activity beliefs and behaviors of the students. Nurses studying with students can use this program as a guide.Publication Open Access Uzaktan Eğitimin Okul Çocuklarının Sağlık Davranışlarına ve İnternet Kullanımlarına Etkisi: Karma Araştırma(2022-09-23) KADIOĞLU, HASİBE; KOLAÇ, NURCAN; Yurt S., Kadıoğlu H., Kolaç N., Kubilay F.Amaç: Bu çalışmada, COVID-19 pandemi döneminde uzaktan eğitimin okul çocuklarının sağlık davranışlarına ve internet kullanımlarına etkisinin karma araştırma yöntemi ile belirlenmesi amaçlanıştır. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı bir araştırmadır. Araştırmada karma araştırma yöntemi kullanıldı. Araştırmanın evreni bir ilkokuldaki öğrenciler (n=246), veliler (n=876) ve öğretmenler oluşturmuştur. Nitel araştırma için öğrenci, veli, öğretmen ile odak grup görüşmesi (n=7-10) uygulandı. Araştırmada yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu, sağlık durumu anketi, Aile-Çocuk İnternet Bağımlılık Ölçeği kullanıldı. Nitel bölüm içerik analizi ile, nicel veriler tanımlayıcı istatistikler ile değerlendirildi. Araştırma için etik kurul onayı alınmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırma bulgularına göre pandemide ebeveynlerin ailesel yüklerinde artış, öğrenci-veli-öğretmende uyumlanma stresi yoğun görülmüştür. Çocukların rutin sağlık davranışları bozulduğu belirlendi. Kilo alma (%34,9), hareketsizlik (%61,3), İnternette geçirilen sürede artış (%68,3), iştahta artış (%28,5), uyku düzeninde bozulma (%27,1), endişe-kaygı- korku (28,9), göz problemlerinde artış (%26,4), postür bozukluğu (%38,2), kas gücünde azalma (%27,2), sosyal etkileşimde azalma (57,7), akademik başarıda azalma (%26,8) görüldüğü bulundu. Öğrencilerin %0,6’sının internet bağımlılığı, %7,1 ‘inin sınırlı internet bağımlılığı semptomu gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Sonuç ve Öneriler: Pandemi döneminde ilkokul öğrencilerinin uzaktan eğitimle ekran önünde eğitime katılmak durumunda kalmaları fiziksel, ruhsal ve sosyal sorunlar yaşamalarına yol açmıştır. Gelecekte bu tür uzaktan eğitim durumlarına yönelik öğrencileri aktive edecek, sağlık sorunları yaşamalarını azaltacak eğitim ve programların oluşturulmasına, uzaktan destek sistemlerinin eğitim sistemi içine alınmasına, bunların erişilebilir olmasına öncelik verilmesi önerilmektedir.Publication Open Access Validity and reliability of Turkish version of the scale on community care perceptions (Scope) for nursing students(2022-03-01) BEYHAN, ABDULLAH; KADIOĞLU, HASİBE; Bay T., Ozdemir I. N., BEYHAN A., Yalcin I., KADIOĞLU H.Objective: The purpose of study was to conduct a study on validity and reliability of Turkish version of the “Community Care Perceptions for Nursing Students”. Methods: This methodological study was conducted in two of the universities located in Istanbul with 386 students between the dates May and December in 2019. During the designation of the Turkish version of the scale back-translation method was utilized for the language adaptation. Validity was assessed as content and construct validity and the reliability was assessed as internal consistency, test-retest analysis. Content validity was evaluated with expert views, construct validity with confirmatory factor analysis, internal consistency with Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient, test-retest results with Pearson’s Correlation analysis. Results: Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient was found as .94 and sub-dimensions ranged between .65-.88. Item total correlation was found over .20 excluding 26th, 28th items, test-retest correlation was calculated as .72. Content validity index was determined as .99. Confirmatory factor analysis was approved the structure of scale consisting of 33 items and 3 factors. Conclusions: Nursing Students’ Community Care Perceptions Scale was found to be valid and reliable. It may be used to assess community care perceptions of nursing students taking the course of community care nursing in Turkey.
