Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı, futbolun gündelik yaşamdaki toplumsal işlevleri ve anlamlarını
açıklamak ve bunun yanı sıra futbola kâr amaçlı liberal ekonomik yaklaşımları ve kapitalist
dönüşümünü vurgulayarak, toplum ve spor arasındaki negatif süreçlere dikkat çekmektir.
Futbol dünyada en yaygın spor dalıdır ve sosyal olgudur. Bu spor dalı oyun, toplumsal
iletişim, sohbet, toplumsallaşma, özdeşleşme, duygu, anlam vs. işlevlere sahiptir. Bu
işlevlerinden dolayı, endüstri güçleri futbolu karlı bir iş alanı olarak görmekte ve
metalaştırılıp satışa sunulan bu oyuna ilgi göstermektedir. Bu bağlamda stadyumların
dönüşümü, elektronik bilet uygulamaları, taraftarların gözetimi gibi yönetimsel
düzenlemelerin halkın önemli kesiminin oyuna yabancılaşmasına ve toplumsal dışlanmaya
neden olduğu ileri sürülebilir.

The purpose of this study is to explain social meanings and functions of football in daily life and also to highlight liberal economy practices of profit making approach to the football and its capitalistic transformation to draw attention negative process in the relationship between sport and society. Football is being widespread sport and social phenomenon in the world. This sport is functional in every way that includes play, social communication, conversation, socialization, social identification, emotion, meaning etc. For these reasons industry forces think football as a profitable business area and show interest in this play that can be commoditized and sold. In this context, it can be argued that administrative regulations such as the transformation of stadiums, electronic ticket applications, and the surveillance of fans have caused the alienation of the majority of the people from the game and social exclusion.
