Publication: Lise öğrencilerinin mükemmelliyetçi özellikleri ile kişilik tipleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi
Abstract
Bu araştırmada, lise öğrencilerinin mükemmeliyetçi özellikleri ile kişilik tipleri arasındaki ilişkinin ve demografik değişkenlere göre farklılaşmanın olup olmadığının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu araştırma ilişkisel tarama modeli niteliğinde bir araştırma olup, araştırmanın evrenini 2010-2011 eğitim-öğretim yılında İstanbul’un Üsküdar İlçesi’nde okuyan 10. ve 11. sınıf lise öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini ise, Üsküdar İlçesi’nde bulunan çeşitli liselerde öğrenim gören 10. ve 11. sınıf öğrencilerinden random küme yöntemi ile seçilen 663 öğrenci ( 436’sı kız, 227’si erkek) oluşturmuştur. Verilerin toplanmasında “ÇBMÖ-Çok Boyutlu Mükemmeliyetçilik Ölçeği” (Hewitt ve Flett,1991; Oral,1999), “MBTI-Myers Briggs Psikolojik Tip Belirleyicisi” (Myers Briggs 1977; Tuzcuoğlu,1996) ve “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS for Windows 15.00 paket programında kodlanarak, yine aynı programda araştırmanın amacına uygun olarak, yüzde ve frekans, Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi (ANOVA), Mann Whitney-U, Tamhane’s T2 Testi, Scheffe Testi, Kruskal Wallis-H Testi, Bağımsız Grup T Testi, Pearson Çarpım Momentler Korelasyon Katsayısı Testi istatistik teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen istatistiksel bulguların anlamlılığı .05 ve daha hassas düzeyde sınanmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre; ÇBMÖ kendine yönelik mükemmeliyetçilik alt boyutu ile MBTI düşünen(T) alt boyutu ve yargılayıcı(J) alt boyutu arasında pozitif yönde; hisseden(F) alt boyutu ve algılayıcı(P) alt boyutu arasında negatif yönde; ÇBMÖ başkalarına yönelik mükemmeliyetçilik alt boyutu ile MBTI dışadönük(E) alt boyutu arasında pozitif yönde; içedönük(I) alt boyutu, hisseden(F) ve algılayıcı(P) alt boyutu arasında negatif yönde; ÇBMÖ toplum tarafından dayatılan mükemmeliyetçilik alt boyutu ile MBTI yargılayıcı(J) alt boyutu arasında pozitif yönde; anlamlı ilişkiler bulunduğu saptanmıştır. Cinsiyet, yaş, okul türü, sınıf düzeyi, baba eğitim düzeyi, anne eğitim düzeyi, algıladıkları sosyo-ekonomik düzey, sahip olduğu kardeş sayısı, doğum sırası değişkenlerine göre mükemmeliyetçilik ve kişilik tiplerinin farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı konusunda pek çok bulguya ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçları, alan yazındaki bulgular dikkate alınarak mükemmeliyetçilik ve kişilik tipleri kapsamında, başka araştırma ve uygulamalara da yol gösterecek bağlamda tartışılmıştır. This study aims is to investigate the relationship between perfectionism whit personality types and possible differentiation due to demographical variables in high school students. The research was performed in accordance with the correlationally scanning model. The area universe of this research is composed of 10th and 11th grade students studying at different high schools of Üsküdar region in 2010-2011 educational term. The sample consists of 663 (436 female, 227 male) students gathering from this area universe. In acquiring data, MPS Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (Hewitt ve Flett, 1991; Oral, 1999) MBTI Myers Briggs Type Indicator (Myers Briggs,1977; Tuzcuoğlu,1996) and Individual Information Inventory to determine the individual qualities are used. In the analysis of data, SPSS for Windows 15.00 pack was used for programming and percentage and frequency, One-Way ANOVA (ANOVA), Non Parametric Mann Whitney-U, Tamhane’s T2 Test, Scheffe Test, Kruskal Wallis-H Test, The Independent Group t Test, Pearson Moment Correlation Analysis were used as statistical techniques in compliance with the purpose of the study. Statistical analysis were tested at α=.05 significance level. According to the findings of the research, between MPS self-oriented perfectionism sub-dimension and MBTI judgmental(J) , thinking(T) sub-dimension in positive direction; between MBTI feeling(F) sub-dimension and perceiving(P) sub-dimension in negative direction; between MPS others-oriented perfectionism sub-dimension and MBTI extroverted(E) sub-dimension in positive direction; between MBTI introverted(I), feeling(F) and perceiving(P) sub-dimension in negative direction; between MPS socially prescribed perfectionism sub-dimension and MBTI judgmental(J) sub-dimension in positive direction; significant relationships were found. Many findings on the possible differentiation of perfectionism and personality types have been obtained according to the variables of gender, age, type of school, grade level, education level of parents, perceived socio-economic level and birth order. The results are discussed in the light of previous findings and in the context of perfectionism and personality types, conducting future research for implications as well.
