Okul öncesi dönem çocuklarına uygulanan steam+e² temelli müzik eğitiminin çocukların bilimsel süreç ve problem çözme becerilerine etkisi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, STEAM+E² temelli müzik eğitiminin okul öncesi dönem çocuklarının bilimsel süreç ve problem çözme becerilerine ilişkin etkisinin incelenmesidir. Bu amaçla araştırmada ön test – son test kontrol gruplu deneme modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırma, 2024-2025 Eğitim-Öğretim yılında Ankara ilinde bulunan Özel Seviye Okullarının anaokulunda yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, yaşları 60-72 ay arasında değişen ve normal gelişim gösteren 28 çocuktan oluşmuştur. “Bilimsel Süreç Becerilerini Değerlendirme Aracı” ve “Problem Çözme Becerisi Ölçeği” deney ve kontrol gruplarına uygulama başlamadan önce ön test olarak uygulanmıştır. Bu araştırmada uygulama olarak STEAM bütünleşik öğrenme modeline araştırmacı tarafından E2 olarak tanımlanan Ethical (Etik) ve Environment (Çevre) alanlarının eklenmesiyle oluşan 7 ayaklı yeni bir model denemesi yapılmıştır. Deney grubuna haftada bir gün 30-40 dakika süreyle STEAM+E² temelli müzik etkinlikleri 6 hafta boyunca uygulanmış, kontrol grubuna ise hiçbir özel etkinlik uygulanmamıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre, deney ve kontrol gruplarında yer alan çocukların son test puanları arasında bilimsel süreç becerileri boyutunda anlamlı bir fark çıkmamış, problem çözme becerileri boyutunda ise deney grubu lehine anlamlı bir farklılık belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak; okul öncesi eğitimde uygulanan etkinlikler STEAM+E² temelli müzik etkinlikleri ile desteklendiği takdirde, çocukların problem çözme becerilerinin gelişmesine olumlu yönde katkı sağlamaktadır.

The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of STEAM+E²-based music education on preschool children's scientific process and problem-solving skills. For this purpose, the study employs a pre-test and post-test control group experimental design. The research was conducted during the 2024-2025 academic year at the kindergarten of Private Seviye Schools in Ankara. The study group consists of 28 children aged 60-72 months who show normal development. The Scientific Process Skills Assessment Tool and the Problem-Solving Skills Scale were administered as pre-tests to both the experimental and control groups before the implementation began. In this study, a new seven-component model was tested, incorporating Ethical (Ethics) and Environment (Environmental) domains defined as E² by the researcher into the STEAM integrated learning model. The experimental group was engaged in STEAM+E²-based music activities for 30-40 minutes once a week over a period of six weeks, while the control group did not receive any special activities. According to the findings, there was no significant difference in the scientific process skills between the post-test scores of children in the experimental and control groups. However, in the dimension of problem-solving skills, a significant difference was found in favor of the experimental group. As a result, when preschool education activities are supported with STEAM+E²-based music activities, they contribute positively to the development of children's problem-solving skills.
