Abstract
1925-1938 YILLARI ARASINDA TÜRKİYE'DEKİ İNGİLİZ TİCARET ODASI MECMUASI Bu çalışma İngiltere'nin yurt dışında açmış olduğu en büyük ikinci Ticaret Odası olan İstanbul İngiliz Ticaret Odası'nın 1925-1938 yılları arasında çıkarmış olduğu dergilerin incelenmesini içermektedir.Türkiye İngiliz Ticaret Odası Mecmuası, Meşrutiyet sonrası ülkemizde ciddi bir şekilde faaliyet göstermekte olan yabancı ticaret odalarının bir örneği olan İstanbul İngiliz Ticaret Odasının yayın organıdır. Tezin birinci bölümünde, Türk-İngiliz ilişkilerinin tarihsel arka planı, ilişkilerin gelişim süreci ve hangi dinamiklere dayandığı ile ticari ilişkilere değinilmiştir. İkinci bölümde Ticaret Odalarının Avrupa ve Osmanlı Devletinde kuruluşu ve gelişimi ana çizgileri ile incelenmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise tez konusunun esasını teşkil eden Türkiye'nin İngiliz Ticaret Odası Derneğinin, aylık ticaret mecmuası incelenmiştir. Bu bölümde, Odanın kuruluş ve gelişimi ile yine Oda hizmetlerine değinilmiş daha sonra 1925-1938 yılları arasında
olarak yayımlanmış olan dergilerin yıllık olarak genel değerlendirmeleri yapılmış ve aylık bazda 1925 yılında yayımlanmış olan dergilerin geniş değerlendirmeleri örnek olarak verilmiştir. Kısa bir değerlendirme ile tez sonlandırılmıştır. Derginin içerik listesi sayılarına göre ekler bölümünde sıralanmıştır. ABSTRACT THE JOURNAL of THE BRITISH CHAMBER of COMMERCE BETWEEN 1925-1938 in TURKEY This study aims to examine the journals published by British Chamber of Commerce in İstanbul between 1925-1938, which was the second biggest chamber of commerce that Britain opened abroad. The British Journal of Commerce of Turkey was the official organ of the British Chamber of Commerce of İstanbul, which was an example of the foreign chambers of commerce whose activities flourished after the Constitutional Era. In the first part of this thesis, the historical background of the Turkish-British relationships, their process of development and the dynamics they were based upon, are dealt with. In the second part, a general sketch of the foundations and development of the chambers of commerce in Europe and the Ottoman Empire was given. In the third part, the Monthly Trade Journal of British Chamber of Commerce of Turkey which comprised the essence of the thesis, was studied in depth. In this part, first the foundation and development of the chamber together with the services provided by this chamber, were mentioned, then an assessment of the journals published in English between 1925-1938 was made on the annual basis, and a broad evaluation of the journals published in 1925, on the monthly basis was presented as an example. Finally, the thesis was ended with a brief conclusion. The contents table of the journal according to the issue number, was provided in the appendix section.
