reci, Bilgi Toplumu, Etik, Üniversiteler ÖZ DÖNÜŞÜM SÜRECİNDE BİLİŞİM TOPLUMUNUN ETİK SORUNLARI: TÜRKİYE’DE ÜNİVERSİTELER ÜZERİNE BİR ARAŞTIRMA Bilgisayar ve iletişim alanlarındaki teknolojik gelişmeler sonucu ortaya çıkan ekonomik ve toplumsal gelişmeler artık endüstri çağının kapandığını ve yeni bir çağa girildiğini göstermektedir. Bilişim teknolojilerinin kendine özgü doğası ve sosyal etkileri vardır ve bu etkilerin başkaları aleyhine bir durum ortaya çıkarmaması için “bilgisayar etiği” kavramı geliştirilmiştir. Bilimsel ilerlemeler ve teknolojik gelişmeler bireylerin günlük hayatını birçok yönden etkilemektedir. Akademik ortamı oluşturan üniversitelerin kendi temel alanlarındaki gelişmelere uyum sağlayabilmek için sürekli olarak kendilerini yenilemek zorundadır. Bunun için de teknolojik yenilikleri bu paralelde kullanmak mecburiyetindedir. Bu kullanım sırasında bireyler kısa vadeli kazanımlar edinmek için etik olmayan davranışlar sergileyebilmektedir. Bunun için, özellikle bilişim teknolojilerinin kullanımında ahlaki erozyona karşı kendilerini korumalıdırlar. ETHICAL ISSUES OF INFORMATION SOCIETY THROUGHOUT THE TRANSFORMATION PROCESS: A RESEARCH ON THE UNIVERSITIES IN TURKEY Economic and social developments, which result from technological developments in the area of computer and communications, show that industrial age has been ended and a new age has been welcomed. Information Technologies have specific nature and social impacts which may cause negative situations against others so that the concept of “computer ethics” has been developed. Scientific advancements and technological developments affects daily life from different aspects. Universities, that constitute academic environment, should renew themselves continuously in order to cope with the developments in their fundamental areas. For this, they have to use technological developments. Individuals show unethical behaviors to gain short-term benefits along this usage. Therefore, individuals should protect themselves against moral erosions especially during the usage of information technologies. In this dissertation, an empirical study has been conducted to examine the current situation of the computer ethics in the universities in Turkey.
