Abstract

Tarihsel süreçte, bilhassa Türk toplumlarında bir sanat dalı haline gelen seramik, Osmanlı devrinde gerek günlük kullanım eşyası gerek hediye edilmek için üretilmiştir. 16. yüzyılda kahveyle tanışan Türkler, kahve içmek için seramik kapları kullanmıştır. Osmanlı toplumunda, kahvenin halk arasında yayılması, fincan üretimini sürekli kılmıştır.

Throughout the history, espacially in the Turkish society, ceramic, which has increasingly transformed an art, has been greatly used to produce the objects for both daily life meterials and gifts to be given. In the 16thcentury, Turkish people, who met coffee first time, have used the ceramic pots to drink coffee. In Ottoman society, with coffee being part of daily life, producing the coffee pot was perpuated. After Iznik, Kütahya has a crucial place in manufacturing coffee pots.
