Abstract

Whitehead'in felsefesinin temel amacı, gerçekliğin tamamını olduğu gibi kavramaktır. Yani Whitehead bir gerçekliğin varlığını ve bunun kavranabileceğini kabul ederek yola çıkar. Bu nedenle de realisttir. Bir yirminci yüzyıl felsefecisi ve matematikçisi olan Whitehead, bu gerçekliğin kavranması için deneyimi ve bilimi de öncelikli bir konuma yerleştirir. Namely Whitehead starts out by accepting the existence of a reality and the fact that it can be understood. For that reason, he is a realist. Whitehead, a 20th century philosopher and mathematician, puts experience and science in a prior position for understanding the reality. Likewise, in his religion philosophy, Whitehead stresses the role of personal experience in not only “proving” the existence of the God, but also in comprehending Him. What is important for him is what we can learn about God’s place and importance in the universe by using the knowledge and experience we have. Shortly, in religion philosophy, too, Whitehead’s efforts are inclined to the comprehension concerning another dimension of reality.
