Publication: Gerçeklik-ötesi çağı hegemonya ve iklim krizi üzerinden anlamak
Abstract
Yaşadığımız dönem gerçeklik-ötesi (post-truth) bir çağ mıdır? Gerçeklik-ötesi, belirli olaylarda toplumun düşüncesini şekillendirmede duygulara ve kişisel düşüncelere yönelik (sözlerin) nesnel gerçeklerden daha etkili olması durumunu ifade eder. Tanımdan anlaşıldığı üzere nesnel gerçeklik verili bir durum olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bu noktada ‘gerçek’ üzerine Antik Yunan’dan günümüze yürütülen gerçeğin olgusal olarak nesnel biçimde var olup olmayacağı kadim tartışma düşünülürse, gerçeğin verili olarak kabulü kavramın tartışmasını içinden çıkılmaz başka bir tartışma ile karşı karşıya bırakmaktadır. Dolayısıyla gerçeğin kendisini tartışmaktansa gerçeğin insan bilinciyle algılanmasından hareketle gerçeklik-ötesini ele almak söz konusu düşünsel tartışmanın dışında kalmayı ve kavram üzerine getirilen eleştirel yaklaşımı ilerletmeyi sağlayacaktır. İnsan bilincinin toplumsal pratikler içerisinde belirlendiği düşünülecek olursa, toplumsal düzene egemen olan hegemonyanın kısmi de olsa etkisi altında olduğu görülmektedir. Bu noktada mevcut hegemonyanın; neo-liberal ekonomik, siyasal, toplumsal yaklaşım üzerine kurulduğu tespit edilebilir. Dolayısıyla çağı adlandırırken gerçeklik-ötesi kavramını kullanmak çok da yerinde bir yaklaşım değildir. Gerçeklik-ötesi yazın içerisinde kavramın kökenleri özelinde bilim karşıtlığı bağlamında küresel ısınma inkarcılığı tartışmasının, ekolojik kuramların yaklaşımından yararlanarak, iklim krizine başat nedenlerden biri olan mevcut kapitalist ekonomik yapının hegemon düzeninin ideolojik bir söylemi olduğu gösterilmektedir.

The term of post-truth is related to circumstances that emotions and personal opinions are more influential than objective facts in relation to such circumstance. As the definition suggests, objective facts are accepted as given. Such acceptation sparks another complicated debate in addition to the eternal debate on if “truth” can exist in a factual and objective fashion since Ancient Greek Is the era that we live in a post-truth age? The term post-truth is related to the philosophy. Therefore, instead of discussing on the truth itself, discussing post-truth in relation to humane perception of truth will help to exclude self from the aforementioned ideational discussion and focus on progressing critical approach on the term. It can be seen that as social practices have an influence in shaping humane conscience, the same humane consciense also is under influence of the hegemony, practicing its hegemony on social order. At this point, one can argue that the incumbent hegemony is founded on neo-liberal approaches on economy, politics and society. Therefore, using the term “post-truth” is not the best approach to define the era we live in appropriately. In the post-truth literature it is argued that the discussion on climate change in relation to roots of the term in the context of climate change denial has an ideological discourse belonging to the incumbent capitalist economic order which is one of the primary reasons of climate change itself.
