İnsan duygularının kökeni i̇le i̇lgili mitler üzerine bir i̇nceleme

Abstract

Mitler, yaratıldıkları toplumun kültürünü, davranışlarını, düşüncelerini ve duygularını anlamamızı sağlar Aynı zamanda da bu toplumlardaki belli düşünce ve duyguların nasıl gelişmesi gerektiğine dair fikir oluşturabilecek anlatılar sunarak, bireylerin toplum içerisindeki rollerini pekiştirmeye yardımcı olurlar Duyguların mitler içerisindeki işleniş şekli, kadın ve erkeklerin hangi duyguları neden hissettiklerini açıklayabileceği kadar, bunu yaratma gücüne de sahiptir Mitlerin bireye nasıl davranması gerektiğine dair bir tür rol model oluşturabilmesi, anlatı içerisinde toplumsal cinsiyet rollerini de sağlamlaştıracak örnekler oluşmasına sebep olabilir Bu bağlamda Antik Çağ Yunan felsefesinden itibaren duyguların tarihçesi içerisinde sıklıkla rastlanan akıl-ruh çatışmasının mitlerde de karşımıza çıkması ve tıpkı felsefede olduğu gibi aklın ve rasyonel düşüncenin erkeğe, duyguların ve iradesizliğin ise kadınlara atanması oldukça dikkat çekicidir Bu çalışmada da mitler içerisindeki kıskançlık, öfke, utanç, merak ve kibir duygusunun cinsiyetler bağlamında nasıl işlendiği üzerinde durularak, duygular aracılığıyla yaratılmak istenen algılara değinilmek istenmiştir Bunun için de önce duygunun ne olduğundan, ardından duyguların tarihçesinden ve son olarak duyguların farklı kültürlere ait mitler içerisindeki örneklerinden bahsedilmiştir

Myths help us understand the culture, behaviors, thoughts, and emotions of the societies in which they were created At the same time, by offering narratives that can provide ideas about how certain thoughts and emotions should develop within those societies, they also help reinforce individuals' roles within the community The way emotions are portrayed in myths has the power not only to explain which emotions are felt by men and women and why, but also to shape them The ability of myths to create role models regarding how individuals should behave can lead to the formation of examples that reinforce gender roles within the narrative In this context, it is noteworthy that the mind-soul conflict frequently encountered in the history of emotions since Ancient Greek philosophy also appears in myths, and just as in philosophy, reason and rational thought are attributed to men, while emotions and lack of willpower are associated with women This study focuses on how the emotions of jealousy, anger, shame, curiosity, and arrogance are represented in myths in terms of gender, aiming to highlight the perceptions that myths attempt to construct through emotions For this purpose, the study first discusses the concept of emotion, then the history of emotions, and finally examples of emotions found in myths from different cultures
