Öğrenci liderliği programı’nın 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin liderlik rolleri ve davranışlarına etkisinin incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı “biz lideriz” eğitim programının öğrencilerin liderlik rolleri ve davranışlarına etkisini belirlemektir. Çalışma temel olarak iki aşamadan oluşmuştur. İlk aşama lider öğrenci ölçeğinin geliştirilerek geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmasının yapılması, ikinci aşama “biz lideriz” eğitim programının yazılması, programın oluşturulması ve ardından çalışma gruplarının oluşturularak uygulamanın gerçekleştirilmesidir. “Biz lideriz” eğitim temel liderlik, kişisel yetenek, toplumsal hizmet, problem çözme ve takım çalışması olmak üzere beş temel alanda öğrencilerin geliştirilmesi amacıyla hazırlanmıştır. Program 5 gün boyunca, 26 ders saati süre ile araştırmacı tarafından uygulanmıştır. Çalışmada deneysel araştırma modeli kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubu 2006–2007 eğitim öğretim yılında Özel Atafen İlköğretim Okulu 6. sınıfına devam eden 49 öğrenciyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda biz lideriz eğitim programına dâhil olan öğrencilerde, dâhil olmayanlara göre, temel liderlik, kişisel yetenek, problem çözme, takım çalışması ve toplumsal hizmet boyutlarında anlamlı farklar bulunmuştur. Araştırma sonuçları, öğrencilerin liderlik potansiyellerinin eğitim programları yoluyla geliştirmesiyle onların okullarında, toplumlarında ve ülkelerinde yapıcı değişimler oluşturabilecek etkili liderler olarak yetiştirilmesinin önemini vurgulamaktadır.

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of “We are Leaders” program on leadership roles and behaviors of students. The study mainly consisted of two stages. The first stage included developing leader student scale and making validity and reliability tests, the second stage included drawing up “We are leaders” education program, constructing it, and setting up samples and implementation. “We are Leaders” education program was prepared for students to be developed in five basic areas; basic leadership, personal abilities, community service, problem solving and teamwork. Program was implemented by researcher during 5 days, for 26 class hours. Experimental research model was utilized in the reasearch. The sample was formed by 49 students, attending 6th grade at Private Atafen Elementary School in 2006-2007 school year. Significant differences were found at the students who attended to “We are leaders” education program compared to students who did not, in dimensions of basic leadership, personal abilities, problem-solving, teamwork, and community service. Findings of the research emphasizes the importance of students being developed as efficient leaders who will make constructive changes at their schools, communities, and countries; by developing students’ leadership potentials by means of education programs.
