Abstract

ndarlık, Mistik Tecrübe, Benlik Saygısı, Orta Yaş, Yaşlılık ÖZET Orta Yaş ve Yaşlılıkta Dindarlık, Mistik Tecrübe ve Benlik Saygısı Bu araştırmanın amacı, orta yaş ve yaşlılıkta cinsiyet, yaş, sosyal çevre, medeni durum, eğitim durumu, ekonomik durum gibi demografik özellikler dikkate alınarak dindarlık, mistik tecrübe ve benlik saygısı arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Ampirik olarak tasarlanan bu araştırmanın örneklemini Denizli ve İstanbul’da yaşayan 170 birey oluşturmuştur. Örneklem grubundan bilgi toplamak amacıyla geliştirilen anket formu dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. Bunlar; katılımcıların demografik özelliklerini belirlemeye yönelik sorular, dindarlık ölçeği, Mistik Tecrübe Ölçeği ve Coopersmith Benlik Saygısı Envanteri’dir. Verilerin analizinde SPSS paket kullanılmıştır. Örneklem grubundan elde edilen veriler, t-Test, ANOVA, Pearson Korelasyon Analiz teknikleri ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucuna göre, katılımcıların cinsiyet ve sosyal çevre değişkenleri dindarlık eğilimlerinde; ekonomik durumları mistik tecrübe düzeylerinde; cinsiyet, öğrenim düzeyi ve medeni durumları ise benlik saygısı düzeylerinde anlamlı farklılaşmaya yol açmıştır. Araştırma sonucuna göre, dindarlık geneli ve dindarlığın ibadet boyutu ile mistik tecrübe arasında; dindarlığın inanç boyutu ile benlik saygısı arasında anlamlı pozitif ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Religiosity, Mystical Experience and Self Esteem in Middle and Old Age Purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between religiosity, mystical experience and self esteem in middle and old age with regard to demographic variables such as gender, age, social environment, marital status, education level and socio-economic status. The empirical sample of the study is constituted 170 adults who live in Denizli and İstanbul. Questionnaire is formed of four part to obtain information from the group of sample. These are demographic variables to determine socio-economic status of subjects, Religiosity Scale, Mysticism Scale and Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory. SPSS packet software was used for data analysis. Data which is obtained from the group of sample was analyzed with t-Test, ANOVA, Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation techniques. According to the results of the study, participants’ gender and social environment features cause meaningful changes on religiosity levels, socio-economic status cause meaningful changes mysticism levels. Also gender, education level and marital status statistically create significant distiction on account self esteem. At the end of this research, significant relation is found between ritualistic dimension of religiosity and mysticism levels. Also significant relation is found between ideolojical dimension of religiosity and self esteem.
