Publication: Lise biyoloji, fizik ve kimya ders kitaplarının değerler eğitimi açısından incelemesi
Abstract
Bu araştırmada lise 9, 10, 11 ve 12.sınıf biyoloji, fizik ve kimya ders kitaplarında değerlereğitiminin ne kapsamda ve ne oranda yer aldığını belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanıntemelini ise MEB (2017-2018) ders öğretim programlarında yer alan adalet, dostluk,dürüstlük, özdenetim, sabır, saygı, sevgi, sorumluluk, vatanseverlik, yardımseverlikdeğerleri oluşturmuştur. Doküman incelemesi yöntemi kullanılarak incelenen derskitapları, hazırlanan değerler değerlendirme ölçeğinden faydalanılarak gözdengeçirilmiştir. Değer ve değerler eğitiminin tanımı yapılmış, değerler eğitimi yaklaşımlarıve uygulamaları hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. MEB tarafından kabul edilmiş 12 ders kitabıdeğer ifadelerini barındıran metinler bakımından incelendiğinde, toplam 164 değerifadesi barındıran metne rastlanmıştır. Bu bağlamda, en çok değer ifadesi barındırandersin biyoloji dersi olduğu tespit edilmiştir. En fazla tespit edilen değer ise vatanseverlikdeğeridir. Bununla birlikte, adalet ve dürüstlük değerleri, her üç derste de en az tespitedilen değerler olmuştur. Diğer taraftan, ders kitaplarının değerler eğitiminin aktarımındaoynadığı rolün önemi de araştırmanın bir diğer önemli konusunu teşkil etmektedir.
The aim of this study is to assess extent to which and how the values education within the9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade biology, physics and chemistry textbooks. Thus, the basis ofthe study consists of the values such as justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience,respect, affection, responsibility, patriotism, and helpfulness which were defined withinthe Turkish Ministry of National Education (2017-2018) curriculum. For each textbook,the method of reviewing consisted of the document analysis method. The textbooks werereviewed by means of the values rating scale prepared by us. Moreover, we tried to definevthe core values and as well as the values education. In addition to this, we tried to givenecessary information on the approaches and applications related to the values education.The results of the study revealed that when the 12 textbooks assigned by the TurkishMinistry of National Education were examined to find out the texts including valueexpressions, there exist 164 texts containing the value expressions. In this context, wefound out that the biology textbooks contain more value expressions compared to theother textbooks. We also found out that patriotism is the value that occurs most.However, we observed that the notions of justice and honesty are rarely used in thetextbooks of all three fields. On the other hand, another important goal of the study revealsthe fact that the textbooks are of great importance in conveying the values.
