Publication: Paganların son dayanağı İmparator Julian
Abstract
Emperor Julian was raised as a Christian, but abandoned Christianity in his youth, choosing to become a pagan. For this reason, the Emperor was called an apostate by Christians for centuries. When Julian began to rule the Roman Empire alone, he tried to revive paganism and took many steps in this direction and passed various laws. Julian ordered the reopening of closed temples and the resumption of pagan rituals. Julian, who initiated various reform movements to revive, made great efforts to stop the rise of Christians throughout the country. Thanks to his talent for philosophy and rhetoric, the Emperor also tried to support these reforms with his works. Julian’s effort created great fear and anxiety among the Christians, but the Emperor never resorted to violence like his predecessors. However, the Emperor’s activities to revive paganism earned him the hatred of the Christian world, which continued for centuries
