Virginia Üniversitesi Çocuk/Ergen Düşük Kan Şekeri Ölçeği: Türkçe Geçerlilik ve Güvenirlik Çalışması

Abstract

Giriş: Hipoglisemi tip 1 diyabette en sık karşılaşılan akut semptomdur. Ciddi hipoglisemiler bilinç kaybı, nöbet, koma ya da ölüm gibi yaşamı tehdit eden neticelerle sonuçlanabilmektedir. Bu nedenle tip 1 diyabetli ergenlerde hipoglisemi korkusu gelişebilmekte ve metabolik kontrol olumsuz etkilenebilmektedir. Tip 1 diyabetin yönetiminde hipoglisemi korkusunun değerlendirilmesi oldukça önemlidir. Bu araştırma "Virginia Üniversitesi Çocuk/Ergen Düşük Kan Şekeri Ölçeği"nin Türkçe geçerlilik ve güvenirliliğini test etmek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir.Yöntem: Metadolojik tipteki bu araştırma üç farklı çocuk diyabet polikliniğine rutin kontrolleri için gelen 12-17 yaş arası 250 tip 1 diyabetli ergenle Mart-Haziran 2016 tarihleri arasında yapılmıştır. Ölçeğin geçerlilik güvenirliğini test etmek için dil, kapsam, görünüm, yapı geçerliliği, iç tutarlılık (cronbach's alpha katsayısı), madde toplam puan ve test tekrar test güvenirliği uygulanmıştır.Bulgular: Yapı geçerliliği açıklayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Ölçeğin Türkçe versiyonu, orjinalinde olduğu gibi "davranış" ve "endişe" olmak üzere iki alt boyuttan oluşmuş ve doğrulanmıştır. Ölçeğin cronbach alfa katsayısı 0,843 olarak saptanmıştır. Madde toplam puan korelasyonu 0.19 ile 0.54 arasında değişmektedir. Test-tekrar test korelasyon katsayısı 0.997 olarak saptanmıştır.Sonuç: Virginia Üniversitesi Çocuk/Ergen Düşük Kan Şekeri Ölçeği, tip 1 diyabetli Türk ergenlerinin hipoglisemiye yönelik korkularını belirlemede geçerli ve güvenilir bir araç olarak bulunmuştur.

Background: Hypoglycaemia is the most common acute complication of type 1 diabetes. Severe hypoglycaemia can result in life threatening consequences, including loss of consciousness, seizure, accidents, coma, and death. Adolescents with type 1 diabetes may develop a signiŞ cant fear of hypoglycaemia in the view of hypoglycaemic episodes and the associated risks for harm. It is very important to evaluate the fear of hypoglycaemia in the management of type 1 diabetes. The aim of the study was to examine the psychometric properties of the University of Virginia Child/Teen Low Blood Sugar Survey (C-LBSS) in Turkish adolescents with type 1 diabetes.Methods: A total sample of 250 adolescents aged 12-17 years with type 1 diabetes who presented at three diabetes policlinics participated in this study from March to July 2016. Content, construct and face validities, internal consistency reliability, item-total correlations and testretest reliability were analysed in order to determine the psychometric properties of the survey.Results: The construct validity was evaluated with explanatory and conŞ rmatory factor analyses. The factor structure of the Turkish version C-LBSS consisted of two subscales and supported the original two structure. Cronbach's alpha of the C-LBSS was 0.84 and item-total correlations ranged from 0.19 to 0.54. Test-retest correlation coefŞ cient was 0.997.Conclusion: The psychometric analyses of the Turkish version of the University of Virginia Child/Teen Low Blood Sugar Survey indicated high reliability and good content and construct validity for measuring hypoglycaemia fear in Turkish adolescents with type 1 diabetes.
