Abstract
İşsizlik, modern toplum yapısının ortaya çıkardığı problemlerden biridir. Geleneksel toplumdan modern topluma geçiş arttıkça işsizlik sorunu daha belirgin hale gelmektedir. İş, çalışma, emek kavramlarındaki zihinsel dönüşüm, ücretli emeğin yaygınlaşması, insan ihtiyaçlarının artması, köyden kente göç gibi modern olgular, işsizliği önemli bir sorun haline getirmiştir. Gelişmekte olan ülkeler içinde olan Türkiye’de de işsizlik kalıcı bir sorun olmuştur. İşsizliğin beraberinde getirdiği bireysel ve sosyal sorunlarla toplumun tüm kurumları ilgilenmektedir. Bu çalışmada biz işsizliği dinle ilişkileri açısından ele almaktayız. Din ve işsizlik ilişkisi çok fazla ele alınan bir konu değildir. Araştırmamız Gebze ve Çayırova ilçelerinde yaşayan işsiz bireylerle yapılmıştır. Amacımız, işsizliğin bu bireylerin dini değerleri üzerinde etkisini tasvir etmek ve anlamaktır. İşsizliğin dini değerler üzerindeki etkisini araştırdığımız bu çalışmada, nitel araştırma metoduna ait dokümantasyon tekniği ile nicel araştırma metoduna ait anket formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya 504 işsiz birey katılmıştır. Hazırladığımız anket formunda kendimizin hazırladığı Dini Değerler Ölçeği ve İşsizlik ve Din Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları doğrultusunda işsiz bireylerin dindarlıklarında bir artış gözlenmiştir. Bu bilgiden hareketle işsizliğin dini değerlere bağlılığı artıran bir etki yaptığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca araştırmada dindarlığın işsizliğin getirdiği psikolojik sıkıntılara karşı koruma sağladığına dair bulgulara da ulaşılmıştır. Bu iki sonuç birbirini destekler niteliktedir. Din, işsizlik sonucu ortaya çıkması muhtemel problemleri engelleme derecesi farklılaşmakla birlikte pozitif etkilere sahiptir.
Unemployment is one of the problems caused by the modern social structure. As the transition from traditional society to modern society increases, the unemployment problem becomes more evident. Modern phenomena such as the mental transformation in the concepts of work, work and labor, the spread of wage labor, the increase in human needs, and migration from villages to cities have made unemployment an important problem. Unemployment has been a permanent problem in Turkey, which is among the developing countries. All institutions of society deal with the individual and social problems brought about by unemployment. Therefore, it is an important issue what message the teachings of Islam give regarding the issue of unemployment. Our research was conducted with unemployed individuals living in Gebze and Çayırova districts. Our goal is to understand the impact of unemployment on the religious values of these individuals. In this study, where we investigated the effect of unemployment on religious values, the documentation technique of the qualitative research method and the survey form of the quantitative research method were used. 504 unemployed individuals participated in our survey. In the survey form we prepared, the Religious Values Scale and the Unemployment and Religion Scale we prepared were used. In line with the research data, an increase in the religiosity of unemployed individuals was observed. Based on this data, it has been concluded that unemployment has an effect on increasing commitment to religious values. In addition, the study found findings that religiosity provides protection against the psychological distress caused by unemployment. These two results support each other. Religion may have prevented problems that may arise as a result of unemployment.
