ABD ve Çin'in Afrika üzerindeki hegemonya mücadelesi : Nijerya örneği

Abstract

Günümüze kadar büyük güçlerin odak noktası olan Afrika kıtası 21.YY’da da büyükgüçlerin dikkatini çekmeye devam etmektedir. Afrika Kıtası zengin yeraltı kaynaklarınasahiptir. Nitekim tarihsel süreçte bu doğal kaynaklar bölge halkı tarafından değil sömürgedevletleri tarafından kullanılmıştır. Afrika, zengin yeraltı kaynakları ile günümüzde de küreselsistemi şekillendirmeye çalışarak hegemon olma yarışına giren ülkelerin odağı halindeolmaya devam etmektedir.Bu tezde Çin Halk Cumhuriyeti ve Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nin Afrika kıtasındakihegemonya mücadelesi Nijerya üzerinden analiz edilecektir. Afrika kıtasındaki üçüncü enzengin ülke olan Nijerya, stratejik bir öneme de sahiptir. 2000’li yıllardan itibaren küreselsistemde hem siyasi hem de ekonomik yükselişe geçen Çin, ABD’nin karşısındaki en büyükrakip ülke konumuna gelmeye başlamıştır. Bugün de Çin ve ABD Afrika kıtasındahegemonya mücadelesi içerisindedirler. Bu tezin cevap aradığı temel soru da ABD ve Çinarasında yaşanan hegemonya mücadelesinin Nijerya üzerinden nasıl geliştiği olarakbelirlenmiştir.

The African Continent has been the main focus of great powers in the past andcontinues to draw the attention of international and local powers in the 21st century. Thecontinent has rich underground resources. As a matter of fact, these natural resources wereused by the colonial states in the historical process, not by the people of the region. Africa,with its rich underground resources, continues to be the focus of the countries that competefor being a hegemon by trying to shape the global system.In this thesis, the hegemony struggle of the People's Republic of China and the UnitedStates of America on the African continent will be analyzed through the to Nigerian country.Nigeria is the third richest country on the African continent, but it has a strategic importancein Africa. Starting from the 2000s, both the political and economic upswing in the globalsystem, China has become the largest competitor in the United States. Africa, which has beenthe focus of great powers since the past, continues to be the focus of great powers in the 21stCentury. Today, China and the United States are fighting hegemony on the African continent.The main question that the study seeks to answer is how the hegemony struggle between theUSA and China developed over Nigeria.
