Büyük Ortadoğu Projesinin Türkiye’nin Ortadoğu ve Orta Asya Türk Cumhuriyetleri ile olan ekonomik İlişkilerine etkisi

Abstract

2001 yılında 11 Eylül Olayları’nın olmasının hemen ardından uluslararası sistemde tek kutuplu süreçten çok kutuplu yeni bir sürecin başlangıcına geçilmiştir. Amerika Birleşik Devletleri, Soğuk Savaş süreci sonrasında oluşturmaya çabaladığı dünya düzeninin Ortadoğu ayağını içeren Büyük Ortadoğu Projesi’ni uygulamaya başlamıştır. Proje, her unsuruyla hazır olmayıp; süreç içerisinde içeriği değişebilecek bir girişim niteliğindedir. Bu girişim içeriğinde askeri, siyasi, sosyal, kültürel ve ekonomik unsurları barındırmaktadır. Amaç, Büyük Ortadoğu coğrafyasını Amerikan çıkarlarına göre şekillendirmek, enerji nakil hatlarını denetim altında tutarak Amerikan hegemonyasını devam ettirmektir.Bu çalışma ile Büyük Ortadoğu Projesi’nin ne olduğu, küresel ve bölgesel güçlerin bu girişime olan yaklaşımları, girişimin Türkiye’ye olan siyasi ve ekonomik etkileri anlatılmaya çalışılmıştır.Türkiye, hükümet nezdinde projeyi desteklemiş olup, kısa vadede bu girişimin siyasi etkileri olumsuz olmuştur. Projenin, Türk ekonomisine ise dayandığı neo-liberal politikalar sebebiyle etkisi olumsuz olurken, ele alınan sektörler açısından incelendiğinde genelde olumlu etkileri olmuştur. THE IMPACT OF THE GREATER MIDDLE EAST PROJECT TO TURKEY’S ECONOMIC RELATIONS WITH MIDDLE EAST AND TURKISH REPUBLICS OF MIDDLE ASIA

After the September 11 events happenned in 2001, a new duration has just started in an international system including multiple polars instead of one. United States of America has started to implement the Greater Middle East Project which forms the Middle East part of the new world order that the United States has been trying to form after the cold war duration. The factors that form the project are not completely ready yet; however the initiative has the ability to update its content during the process. This initiative includes the military, political, social, cultural, and economic factors in its content. The goal is to shape the great Middle East geography according to the interests of United States and carry on American hegemony by keeping energy transportation lines in control. This project tells what the Greater Middle East Project is about, the approaches of global and regional powers to this initiative and the political and economic impacts of this initiative to Turkey. Supported by Turkish government, this initiative had negative political impacts in Turkey in the short term. Due to the neo-liberal politics that the initiative relies on, the impact of this initiative to Turkish economy was negative as well; however it had positive impacts generally in some specific sectors.
