STEM UYGULAMALARINA İLİŞKİN GÖRÜŞLERLE BU UYGULAMANIN_x000D_ BİLİMSEL TUTUM VE FEN ÖĞRETİMİ ÖZ YETERLİK İNANCI ÜZERİNE ETKİSİ

Abstract

Araştırmanın amacı; fen bilgisi öğretmenadaylarının STEM uygulamalarına yönelik görüşleri ile buuygulamanın bilimsel tutum ve fen öğretimine yönelik özyeterlik inançlarına olan etkisinin belirlenmesidir.Araştırma tek grup ön test son test modelinde olup;araştırmanın örneklemini İstanbul’daki bir üniversitenin 2.sınıfında okuyan 44 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır.Araştırma verileri bilimsel tutum ölçeği, fen öğretimi özyeterlik inanç ölçeği ve görüşme soruları ile toplanmıştır.Araştırma verilerinin analizi SPSS 17.0 programı ve içerikanaliziyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilensonuçlar fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının fen öğretimineyönelik öz yeterlik inançlarının uygulama öncesi vesonrasında anlamlı bir farklılık göstermediğini; bunakarşın sonuçlar alt boyutlar açısından incelendiğindeölçeğin “fen öğretiminde sonuç beklentisi” alt boyutunailişkin sonuçlarının anlamlı olarak farklılaştığıgörülmektedir. Araştırmada bilimsel tutumlarının iseuygulama öncesi ve sonrasında anlamlı bir farklılıkgöstermediği; buna karşın ölçeğin “kanunlar ve teorilerinyapısı” alt boyutunda uygulama öncesi ve sonrasındaanlamlı bir farklılık olduğu görülmektedir. Araştırmadanelde edilen sonuçlar fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarınınSTEM uygulamalarını faydalı bulmakla birlikte, ülkemizaçısından uygulanabilirliğini düşük bulmaktadırlar.Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda STEMuygulamalarının farklı sınıf seviyelerindeyaygınlaştırılması ve bu süreçte kavram öğretiminin deentegre edilerek disiplinlerarası çalışmanın sağlanmasıönerilmektedir.

The aim of this study is to identify the_x000D_ prospective science teachers’ views on STEM_x000D_ applications and the impact of this application on_x000D_ their scientific attitude and self-efficacy belief in_x000D_ teaching science. The research is in the one group_x000D_ pre-test post-test design and the sample of the_x000D_ research is made of 44 prospective teachers studying_x000D_ at the second grade in a university. The research_x000D_ data were collected by “science education selfefficacy belief, scientific attitude scale and_x000D_ interview questions”. The analysis was conducted_x000D_ with SPSS 17.0 program and content analysis. The_x000D_ results show that the prospective science teachers’_x000D_ self-efficacy belief didn’t demonstrate a_x000D_ considerable difference before and after the_x000D_ applications; however it is seen that the results_x000D_ regarding the scale’s “science teaching outcome_x000D_ expectations” sub-dimension differed considerably_x000D_ when the results are examined in terms of subdimensions. Also results show that the prospective_x000D_ science teachers’ scientific attitudes didn’t differ_x000D_ considerably before and after the applications;_x000D_ however there is a considerable difference in the_x000D_ scale’s “the structure of laws and theories” subdimension before and after the application._x000D_ Prospective teachers found the applicability of_x000D_ STEM activities low but they thought that this_x000D_ application is beneficial to both the student and the_x000D_ teacher. In the light of the results of the research, it_x000D_ is suggested that STEM applications are expanded_x000D_ to different grade levels and that interdisciplinary_x000D_ research is achieved along with the integration of_x000D_ concept teaching.
