Abstract
Türkiye, 1990'ların başından itibaren Balkanlardaki gelişmeleri yakından takip etmiş, Yugoslavya'dan bağımsızlığını kazandığı tarihten bu yana Makedonya Cumhuriyeti ile iyi ilişkiler içinde olmuştur. Makedonya'nın uluslararası düzeyde tanınmasını, Batı dünyası ile entegrasyonunu, AB ve NATO üyeliğini destekleyen Türkiye, Makedonya'yı ulus olarak tanıyan ve Üsküp'e büyükelçi gönderen ilk devletlerden biridir. Üsküp'te açılan Yunus Emre Kültür ve Sanat Derneği, Makedonya ile Türkiye arasında karşılıklı kültürel ilişkileri geliştirmeye yönelik çalışmalar yapmaktadır
Turkey has closely followed the developments in the Balkans since the early 1990's, also has been in good relationship with the Republic of Macedonia since the day it left Yugoslavia and won it's independence. Turkey, which supports Macedonia's international recognition, its integration with the Western world, and the EU and NATO membership, is one of the first states to recognize Macedonia as a nation and to sent an ambassador to Skopje. Yunus Emre Culture and Art Association, opened in Skopje, is working to develop mutual cultural relations between Macedonia and Turkey.
