Abstract

Ağız hastalıkları oral kavitenin yapısı, fonksiyon ve hastalıklarını inceleyerek dişhekimliğinde oral mukoza hastalıklarının patofizyolojisi ile tıbbi ve dental ilişkisini kuran uzmanlık alanıdır. Oral ve maksillofasiyal bölgedeki herhangi bir lezyonun değerlendirilmesinde dikkatli ve sistematik bir yaklaşım gerekir. Bu yaklaşım hastadan alınan anamnez, klinik bulguların saptanması, radyolojik ve laboratuvar incelemelerini içerir. Bazı oral mukoza hastalıklarının diagnozunda ön tanının doğrulanması için histopatolojik inceleme gerekmektedir. Bu bölümde ağız hastalıklarının değerlendirilmesinde oral mukozada ortaya çıkabilecek primer ve sekonder lezyonlar, oral mukozanın özellikleri ve değerlendirme kriterleri irdelenecektir.Oral diseases is the branch of science that examines the structure, function and diseases of the oral cavity and is the field of dentistry that establishes the medical and dental relationship by examining the pathophysiology of oral mucosal diseases. A careful and systematic approach is required in the evaluation of any lesion in the oral and maxillofacial region. This approach includes the patient's anamnesis, determination of clinical findings and radiological examinations. In the diagnosis of some oral mucosal diseases, histopathological examination is required to confirm the preliminary diagnosis. In this section, primary and secondary lesions that may occur in the oral mucosa in the evaluation of oral diseases, the characteristics of the oral mucosa and evaluation criteria will be discussed.
