Publication: Borsa İstanbul şirketlerinde sürdürülebilir finans uygulamaları : otomotiv sektörü örneği
Abstract
Sürdürülebilirlik, iktisadın temelinde yer alan kıt kaynakların verimli şekilde kullanılması ilkesinden doğan bir yaklaşımdır. Uzun yıllar boyunca iktisadi aktörler öncelikli olarak ekonomik büyümeye odaklanmışlardır. Ancak zamanla büyümenin nasıl olması gerektiği tartışılmaya başlanmıştır. Toplumsal faydayı önceleyen, çevresel hassasiyeti yüksek, kapsayıcı bir ekonomi yaklaşımı giderek önem kazanmaya başlamıştır. Günümüzde iktisat disiplinindeki yerini giderek artıran sürdürülebilirlik temasının başlıca inceleme ve uygulama alanlarından birisi de sürdürülebilir finans perspektifidir. Sürdürülebilir finans, yalnızca şirketlerin kârlılığını değil, çevresel etkilerini ve toplumsal sorumluluklarını da ön planda tutan yeni nesil bir finans yaklaşımıdır. Borsa İstanbul’da işlem gören şirketlerin öncü uygulamaları, sürdürülebilirliğin yerel finansal sisteme entegrasyonu açısından kritik bir rol üstlenmektedir. Bu tezde, Borsa İstanbul’da sürdürülebilirlik endekslerinde yer alan ve otomotiv sektöründe faaliyet gösteren öncü şirketlerin sürdürülebilir finans uygulamaları derinlemesine analiz edilmektedir. Araştırmanın temel amacı, şirketlerin sürdürülebilirlik stratejilerini, finansal raporlama süreçlerini ve kurumsal yönetişim pratiklerini ortaya koymak; bulgular doğrultusunda şirketlerin sürdürülebilir finansı nasıl daha etkin kullanabileceğini tartışmaktır. SWOT analizi çerçevesinde şirketlerin güçlü ve zayıf yönleri ile karşılaşılan fırsatlar ve tehditler değerlendirilmiş, böylece hem akademik literatür hem de uygulama açısından kapsamlı ve özgün bir katkı sunulmuştur.
Sustainability is an approach that stems from the principle of efficient use of scarce resources, which is fundamental to economics. For many years, economic actors have focused primarily on economic growth. However, over time, discussions have begun on how growth should be achieved. An economic approach that prioritises social benefit, has high environmental sensitivity, and isinclusive has begun to gain importance. One of the main areas of study and application of sustainability, which is increasingly gaining ground in the field of economics, is the perspective of sustainable finance. Sustainable finance is a new generation of financial approach that prioritises not only the profitability of companies but also their environmental impact and social responsibilities. The pioneering practices of companies listed on the Istanbul Stock Exchange play a critical role in the integration of sustainability into the local financial system. This thesis provides an in-depth analysis of the sustainable finance practices of pioneering companies listed on the Istanbul Stock Exchange's sustainability indices and operating in the automotive sector. The main objective of the research is to reveal the companies' sustainability strategies, financial reporting processes and corporate governance practices, and to discuss how companies can use sustainable finance more effectively based on the findings. The companies' strengths and weaknesses, as well as the opportunities and threats they face, were evaluated within the framework of SWOT analysis, thus providing a comprehensive and original contribution to both academic literature and practice.
