Abstract
Sekülerleşme teorilerini, dinin kişisel ve toplumsal otoritesinin ölçülmesini sağlayan kriterler toplamı olarak görebiliriz. Bu yönüyle sekülerleşme teorileri, çağdaş din sosyolojisinin en önemli konularından biri olmaktadır. Sekülerleşme üzerine yapılan tartışmalar ve değerlendirmelerden çıkacak sonuçlar, doğrudan doğruya değişik sosyolojik görüşlerin bakış açılarına ve özellikle de dinin nasıl tanımlandığına bağlıdır. Sekülerleşme süreci değişik Sekülertoplumlarda farklı tarihsel deneyimler olarak ortaya çıkmaktadır. Türkiye'de sekülerleşme tarihi aynı zamanda Batılılaşma tarihidir. En azından bu yolla başladığı söylenebilir. Türkiye'deki dini hayatın çeşitliliği ve bu konuda yapılan pratik çalışmaların meseleyi daha çok siyasi açıdan ele almaları, sağlıklı değerlendirilmeler yapılmasını zorlaştırmaktadır. Özellikle genç ve okuyan nesilde dine karşı pozitif bir eğilim olduğunu görülmekle birlikte eğitim ve gelir düzeyi arttıkça geleneksel dini inançlara ve uygulamalara olan ilgi azalmaktadır. Dinsizlik henüz azınlıktadır. Kişisel dindarlık oldukça yüksek seviyelerdedir. Halkın büyük bir kesimi inançlıdır ve ibadetlerini kısmen de olsa yerine getirmektedir. Toplumsal boyutta din en fazla aile, kişisel ilişkiler ve eğitim alanlarında önemini korumaktadır. Siyaset, hukuk ve ekonomi alanlarında etkisi çok aza inmiştir. SECULARİZATİON THEORİES AND TURKEY We can look at secularization theories as the sum of criteria which provide the ability to measure the personal and public authority of religion. With this aspect secularization theories are one of the most important issues of modern sociology of religion. The results of discussions and assessments on secularization directly depend on views of different sociological opinions and especially depend on definition of religion. The process of secularization comes out as different historical experiences in different societies. In Turkey the history of secularization is also the history of westernization. At least it can be said that the period started with this phenomenon. The diversification of religious life in Turkey and practical studies' politicial handling of issue becloud the healthy evaluation. However with the light of data taken from these studies it's possible to make some evaluations.Whereas there is an obvious tendency to the religion especially in young and well-educated generation, with the increase of income and education level there comes a decrease to the traditional religious believes and practices. Atheism is in minority. Personal religiousness is in a very high level. The big amount of people is believer and even partly, makes religious deeds. In social dimension religion mostly keeps its importance in family, personal affairs and education. Its effect is decreased in politics, law and economy.
