Publication: Halk kütüphanelerinde gönüllülük : “Benim Kütüphanem Projesi’nin değerlendirilmesi”
Abstract
Bu çalışma halk kütüphaneleri hakkında bilgiler verdikten sonra, halk kütüphanelerinde uygulanan gönüllülük çalışmalarını referans alarak halk kütüphanesi hizmetlerinin geliştirilmesinde gönüllü çalışmaların önem ve işlevini, Toplum Gönüllüleri Vakfı ‘Benim Kütüphanem Projesi’ örneği üzerinden göstermektedir. Çalışma dört ana bölümden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmanın ilk bölümünde, halk kütüphanesi hakkında verilmiş, bu bilgiler içerisinde halk kütüphanesinin tanımı, amaçları, görevleri, hizmetleri, yapısal unsurları ve halk kütüphanesi örgütü ile ilgili önemli bilgiler yer almakta, devamında Türkiye’de halk kütüphanelerinin güncel durumu ayrıntılı olarak ele alınmaktadır. Çalışmanın ikinci bölümünde, Türkiye’de son yıllarda halk kütüphaneleri için yapılan örnek çalışmalar, girişimler incelenmektedir. Çalışmanın üçüncü bölümünde, halk kütüphanelerinde gönüllük kavramı, gönüllü kazanma çalışmaları, gönüllülük alanları, gönüllü sözleşmesi, gönüllü hakları, gönüllü olma nedenleri, gönüllü motivasyonu, halk kütüphanelerinde gönüllü çalışmalar uygulayan Toplum Gönüllüleri Vakfı’nın ilkeleri, vizyon ve misyonu, Toplum Gönüllüleri Vakfı tarafından il ve ilçe halk kütüphanelerinde 2006-2008 yılları arasında uygulanan Benim Kütüphanem Projesi ayrıntılarıyla incelenerek proje çıktıları değerlendirilmiş. Çalışmanın dördüncü ve son bölümünde ise halk kütüphanesi çalışanlarıyla gerçekleştirilen “Halk Kütüphanelerinde Gönüllülük” anket çalışmasına ve anketin analizine yer verilmiştir.
This study, after providing information about the public libraries, shows the importance and function of volunteer studies in development of public library services by taking the volunteerism studies applied in public libraries as a reference, and from the sample of Community Volunteers Foundation ‘My Library Project’. The study consists of four main parts. At the first part of the study, general information is provided about the public library. This information includes the definition of public library, its purposes, duties, services, structural elements and important information about the organization of public library. Soon after, current status of public libraries in Turkey is addressed in detail. At the second part of the study, the enterprises and examples of works which is actualized in the recent years for public libraries in Turkey. At the third part of the study, the principles, vision and mission of Community Volunteers Foundation which performs the concept of volunteerism, studies to gain volunteers, volunteerism areas, volunteer contract, volunteer's rights, reasons of volunteerism and volunteer motivation in public libraries, are explained. ‘My Library Project’, which implemented by the Community Volunteers Foundation in Public Libraries of Cities and Counties between 2006 and 2008 is examined in detail and the project outcomes are evaluated. And at the forth and the last part of the study includes, the ‘Volunteerism In Public Libraries’ survey study and the analysis of the survey which was held with public library workers.
