The importance of aspirin use in Cancer [Kanserde aspırın kullaniminin önemı]

Abstract

In recent years, although crucial develeopment of diagnosis and curation for many cancers, it is a serious health problem has high mortality and morbidity worldwide. Therefore scientists have focused on targeted therapy approaches lately. An inbitor or a drug, target spesific, may get succesful results inhibiting cell proliferation and cell growth in development of cancer. Last days, several important studies demonstrated that low dose aspirin utilization decreased insidince and mortality of many cancers including colorectal, breast, gastric and lung cancer. In this review we tried to summarize that aspirin utilization and its effects on cancer molecular mechanisms by current studies. Clarifying these mechanisms will provide an insight needed to develop significant advancements for cancer therapy. Herewith it will be needed to determine aspirin usage profile of patients for each kind of cancer, getting either low or high aspirin dose for which cancer type and benefit risk ratio. Finally, survival of patients may be increased utilizing anti cancer effects of aspirin, a cheap, accesible and easily obtainable nonsteroidal drug and by this way mortality rate of cancer may reduce in the future. © 2016 Düzce Medical Journal.
