Yenik ve yalnız : Türkiye’de yeni orta sınıf ve polisiye edebiyat ilişkisinin Celil Oker romanları üzerinden incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışma Türkiye’de 1990’lı yıllarda yükselişe geçen yeni orta sınıf ile polisiye edebiyatın gelişimi arasındaki ilişkiyi, Celil Oker’in romanları üzerinden çözümlemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Yeni orta sınıf ve polisiye edebiyatın müşterek olarak gelişimini etkileyen unsurları tespit etmek ve bu unsurların ilişkisini düşünümsel bir perspektifle ortaya koymak hedeflenmiştir. Bu bağlamda yeni orta sınıf temsillerinin ve yaşam tarzı stratejilerinin yoğun olarak Celil Oker’in romanlarında yer alması sebebiyle amaçlı örneklem tercih edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte Türkiye’de 1990-2010 yılları arasındaki döneme odaklanan bu çalışmada, yeni orta sınıf ve polisiye edebiyat gelişimini değerlendirebilmek için Pierre Bourdieu’nun alan sosyolojisi yaklaşımı tercih edilmiştir. Çünkü Bourdieu, alan sosyolojisi ile hem yöntembilimsel bir araştırma modeli sunmuş hem de yazınsal alanın analizinin teorik çerçevesini oluşturmuştur. Bunun içindir ki Celil Oker’in “Bir Remzi Ünal Polisiyesi” olarak adlandırabileceğimiz romanlarını ele alırken Bourdieu’nun yapılaşmacı ve ilişkisel yaklaşımı seçilmiştir. Benimsediğimiz bu perspektif, Türkiye’de özellikle 1990’lardan itibaren yazınsal alanda önemli bir gelişim kaydeden polisiye edebiyata dair değerlendirme yapabilmemize, Celil Oker’in toplumsal yörüngesinin polisiye yazar kimliğine etkisine ve polisiye romanlarının kurgusal evreninin incelenmesine yardımcı olmuştur. Böylelikle Türkiye’de yeni orta sınıf ve polisiye edebiyat ilişkisi çok boyutlu bir bakış açısıyla ele alınıp incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda yeni orta sınıfın yükselişinin polisiye edebiyatın gelişimine yön verdiği varsayımı doğrulanmış ve bu varsayımımız Celil Oker’in eserlerinin incelenmesiyle kanıtlanmıştır.

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the rise of the new middle class in Turkiye during the 1990s and the development of detective literature, using Celil Oker’s novels as a case study. The goal is to identify the factors that jointly influenced the emergence of the new middle class and detective literature, and to present the interconnections of these factors from a reflexive perspective. In this context, purposeful sampling is used, as Celil Oker’s novels prominently feature representations of the new middle class and its lifestyle strategies. Focusing on the period between 1990 and 2010 in the Republic of Turkiye, this study adopts Pierre Bourdieu’s field sociology approach to assess the development of the new middle class and detective literature. Bourdieu’s field sociology offers not only a methodological research model but also a theoretical framework for analyzing the literary field. For this reason, Bourdieu’s constructivist and relational approach was chosen in analyzing Celil Oker’s novels, which can be grouped under the category of “A Remzi Ünal Detective Story”. This perspective has enabled a critical evaluation of the rise of detective fiction in the Republic of Turkiye –particularly since the 1990s– while also shedding light on how Celil Oker’s social trajectory influenced his identity as a crime writer and helped shape the fictional universe of his detective novels. In this way, the relationship between the new middle class and detective literature in Turkiye is explored from a multidimensional perspective. The study concludes by confirming the assumption that the rise of the new middle class has significantly shaped the development of detective literature, a hypothesis substantiated through the analysis of Celil Oker’s works.
