Publication: 11-14 yaş elit ve rekreatif basketbol oynayan kız ve erkek basketbolcuların fiziksel uygunluklarının belirlenmesi
Abstract
SUMMARYObjective:The aim of this study was to determine and evaluate the physical fitness parameters of boys and girls who play basketball with the aim of elite basketball players aged 11-14 and for physical recreational activities.Materials and Methods:In the research, a total of 160 children (n=40) and female (n=40) were enrolled in the sportsclub of Işık sports club for girls (n=40) and boys (n=40). Anthropometric (weight, height, Body Mass Index (BMI)and sport performance (speed, vertical jump, balance, hand grip, flexibility, health ball throw, agility, shuttle run and tappingarm speed) measurements were taken to determinethe physical suitability of the participants. . Independent-Samples t test was used to compare the two groups. In addition, descriptive statistics for participants' height, weight and age were shown as minimum, maximum, mean and standarddeviations. Significance was taken as p <0.05.Results:Male elite and recreational basketball athletes 20 m speed (p=,006*), pro-agility (p=,003*) and shuttle run (p=,002*), right hand grip (p=.000*), left hand grip (p=.004*), health ball throw (p=.000*), performance values were found to be, which were statistically significant (p> 0.05). Balance (p=,189) ve vertical jump (p=,064), tapping (p=,168) performance values were found to be, which were not statistically significant (p<0.05). Female elite and recreational basketball athletes balance (p=,000*), vertical jump (p=,001*), 20 m speed (p=,000*), pro-agility (p=,000*) veshuttle run (p=,000*), health ball throw (p=.000*) performance values were found to be, which were statistically significant (p<0.05). Tapping (p=,498), right hand grip (p=.222) veleft hand grip (p=.127) performance values were found to be, which were not statistically significant (p>0.05). Results: The elite basketball players between 11-14 years of age, the number of weekly training, the duration of training and the content of the training positively affect the anthropometric and physical suitability.
