Publication: Akdeniz‟de bir uluslararası çekişme alanı: yedi ada sorunu (1797-1815)
Abstract
Tezimizin Konusu, “Akdeniz’de Bir Uluslararası Çekişme Alanı: Yedi Ada Sorunu 1797-1815”tir. Bu dönem, Fransa’nın Avrupa ve özellikle Akdeniz’de takip ettiği politikadan dolayı meydana gelen siyasi ve stratejik değişimler ve İngiltere, Rusya, Avusturya gibi büyük devletlerin Osmanlı Devleti üzerindeki yıkıcı faaliyetleri ve siyasi çıkar ilişkileri açısından önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Yedi Ada ve ona yakın Osmanlı tebaaları üzerindeki devletlerin faaliyetlerine karşı Osmanlı Devleti’nin kendisini en az zararla kurtarma çabaları açık bir şekilde gösterilmektedir. Mahalli düzeyde de olsa, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu tarihinde ilk anayasasının ortaya çıkması ve otonom bir yönetim şekli oluşturan bir cumhuriyetin kurulması bahis konusu edilmiştir. Tezimizde üzerinde durular önemli bir konu da; bu süreçte Akdeniz’de ve özellikle Yedi Ada’da İngiltere, Rusya ve Fransa’nın kendi aralarındaki siyasi ve askeri çekişmelerin Osmanlı Devleti’ne nasıl yansıdığıdır. Ayrıca Osmanlı Devleti, bu siyaset ve değişime karşı nasıl bir politika takip etti? Sorusuna cevap bulmaya çalıştık.
The topic of this thesis aims to analyse “the Seven Islands (Ionian Islands) as an international struggle in the Mediterranean during the 1797-1815 period”. Due to the policy process that France undertook in Europe and especially in the Mediterranean, and the one performed by the powerful states such as Great Britain, Russia and Austria resulted in political and strategic changes that were devastating on Ottoman Empire activities. In matter of interests, political relations had been also an important factor in that period. The debate the thesis deals with is the Seven Islands (Ionian Islands) and the Ottoman citizens against the activities of the state with the least damage recovery efforts by Ottoman Empire itself are clearly examined. After gaining up domination in the region the emergence of an autonomous republic form of government and the creation of the first constitution in the history of the Ottoman Empire are analysed as well. This thesis aims to examine the Mediterranean and especially the Seven Islands (Ionian Islands) as a political and military struggle among Britain, Russia and France and Ottomans as well and to answer the question how these states policies had reflected on the Ottoman Empire and how the latter pursued its policy against these changes in politics.
