Abstract
Değerler eğitimi, bireyin toplumsal hayata uyum sağlamasında, ahlaki ve etik ilkeleri benimsemesinde önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Çocukluk dönemi, bu değerlerin kazanıldığı ve pekiştirildiği en kritik evrelerden biridir. Ülkemizde çocuklara yönelik çıkarılan dergilerin ilk örneklerini, eski harfli çocuk dergileri oluşturmaktadır. Çocuklara Rehber dergisi de bu yayınlardan biridir. Çocuklara Rehber, 1897–1900 tarihleri arasında, Cumhuriyet öncesi yayınlanan en uzun ömürlü ikinci çocuk dergisidir. Dergi eğitici, eğlendirici ve yönlendirici bazı içerikleriyle birtakım ahlaki değerleri çocuklara kazandırmayı amaçlamıştır. Araştırmada, Çocuklara Rehber dergisinin 80–173. sayıları incelenmiştir. Derginin son yılı olan dördüncü yılında yayımlanan 3, 5, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18 numaralı yedi sayı kütüphane kataloglarında yer almadığından bu sayılar çalışmaya dâhil edilememiştir. Tezin giriş bölümünde konusu, amacı, kapsamı ve bu dergi ile ilgili yapılan önceki çalışmalar hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Birinci bölümde değerler eğitimi ve çocuk dergiciliğine değinilmiştir. İkinci bölümde derginin genel bir incelemesi yapılmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde incelenen sayılarda ahlaki değerler içeren metinler, ayet ve hadis ışığında değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuç bölümünde bu değerlerin bireysel ve toplumsal faydaları ele alınmış; derginin hangi değerleri öne çıkardığı ve bunları nasıl aktardığı gösterilmiştir.
Values education plays an important role in the individual’s adaptation to social life and in adopting moral and ethical principles. Childhood is one of the most critical periods in which these values are acquired and reinforced. The first examples of magazines published for children in our country are children’s magazines with old letters. Children’s Guide Magazine is one of these publications. Guide for Children is the second longest-lived children’s magazine published before the Republic, between 1897 and 1900. The magazine aims to provide children with some moral values through its educational, entertaining and guiding content. In the study, issues 80–173 of Çocuklara Rehber magazine were examined. Seven issues numbered 3, 5, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18 published in the fourth year of the journal, which is the the last year, were not included in the library catalogs and therefore could not be included in the study. In the introduction section of the thesis, information about the subject, purpose, scope and previous studies conducted on this magazine was given. In the first section, values education and children’s magazine were mentioned. In the second section, a general review of the magazine was made. In the third section, the texts containing moral values in the issues were evaluated in the light of verses and hadiths. In the conclusion section discusses the individual and social benefits of these values; it shows which values the magazine highlights and how it conveys them.
