Abstract
« Média » kelimesinin etimolojisine baktığımız zaman genel itibariyle « aracı»,« ortam », « çevre », « ara », ve « medya » vb. gibi anlamlara gelen latince « medium »dan türediğini söyleyebiliriz. Medyayı bir « araç », « aracı » olarak düşünecek olursaksanatsal iletişim araçları arasında yer alan resim, tiyatro, müzik, animasyon gibi alanlar plastik ve estetik sanatların bir parçasını oluştururken görsel-işitsel araçlarda ise sinemayı, radyoyu ve televizyonu saymak mümkündür.
When we take a look at the etymology of the word « média », we can say that the originof the word comes from the Latin plural of « medium » which means « channel », «environment », « means », « ways of communication ». When we consider the notion“media” as means or the means of communication, it is possible to say that painting,theatre, music, animation, which are some forms of artistic communication tools,constitute the field of plastic arts while cinema, radio and television constitute audiovisual field of arts.
