Modernleşme sürecinde Türkiye’de yeni sporlar ve toplumsal dinamikleri

Abstract

“Modernleşme Sürecinde Türkiye’de Yeni Sporlar ve Toplumsal Dinamikleri” başlıklı araştırmamız da, modern sporların Türkiye’ye geliş sürecini toplumsal dinamikleri ile birlikte incelemeyi, modernleşme sürecinde Türkiye’ye getirilen sporların hangi faktörlerin etkisi ile geldiğini, nasıl karşılandığını, hangi aşamalardan geçerek benimsendiğini ve bu süreçte uğradığı değişimleri belirlemeyi amaçladık. Araştırma, dökümantasyon tekniği ile literatürün taranması, konu ile ilgili kitaplar, tezler, dergiler, gazeteler ve arşiv belgeleri de dahil olmak üzere gerekli kaynaklara ulaşılarak toplanan bilgilerin değerlendirilmesiyle yapılmıştır.Bu araştırmada, Türkiye’de modern sporların Tanzimat ile başlayan modernleşme çabaları çerçevesinde geliştiği, Meşrutiyet yıllarında toplumun geniş kesimlerine yayıldığı, Batılı ülkelerde rağbet gören bu sporların devletin doğrudan ya da dolaylı olarak desteği ile, toplumun modern kesimleri içerisinde yer alan kamu görevlisi ya da kamu görevlisi olmaya aday kentli ve eğitimli kişilerin gayretleriyle Türkiye’ye getirildiği ve modern sporların ülkemize gelme ve yerleşme sürecinde Batı tarzında kurulmuş eğitim kurumlarının öncülüğü belirlenmiştir. Batılı ülkelerden getirilen bu sporlara toplumumuzun nasıl tepki verdiği de araştırmamızın önemli bir boyutudur.Türk toplumu modern sporları kültürel tehdit olarak kabul ediyordu, halkın huzur ve düzenini bozacağı düşünülmekteydi.XX. Yüzyılın başlarında toplumun bir kesiminde de olsa modern sporlara ilginin artmasında sağlıklı bir yaşam ve düzgüm bir fizik düşüncesinin olduğunu görmekteyiz. Sonuç olarak, modern anlamda spor düşüncesi ve uygulamaları Osmanlı toplumunun son dönemindeki aydın kesimi tarafından devlet imkanlarından da yararlanılarak hayata geçirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bunda hiç kuşkusuz, kurulan modern okulların programları ile gazete ve dergi yayınlarının yönlendirici etkileri önemli bir rol üstlenmiştir. THE NEW SPORTS AND SOCIAL DYNAMICS IN THE PROCESS OF MODERNIZATION IN TURKEY In our reseach which is about the new sports and social dynamics in the process of modernization in Turkey, we aim to examine the coming of modern sports to Turkey with social dynamics, we aim to maintain under which factors’affects these sports came to Turkey, how it was met after which levels it was accepted and the changes it had during the process of modernization. The reseach was made with documentation technique using the search of literature, the books about the subject, thesis, magazines, newspapers and archieve documents. In the reseach, new sports were developed with the modernization attempts which had started with the “Administrative Reforms” and it was spread to all parts of the society during the “Constitutional Monarchy” years. These sports which were popular in western countries, were brought by the governmets or civil servant candidates which were urban and educated. In the coming of these sports, the schools that were established in the western style were the first. How our society react to those sports which were brought from Western countries is also an important part of our research.Turkish society accepted modern sports as a culturel threat and thought it would give harm to public’s peace and order.In the beginning of 20th century we saw an increase in the interest of modern sports in a part of a society as they wanted a healthy life and a fit body.As a result, thought of modern style sport and its application were tried to be applied by the educated people in the last period of Ottoman society by using governmental facilities. Of course, in that the programmes of modern schools that were founded at that time, newspapers and magazines effects played an important role.
