Publication: Sürdürülebilir organik tarımda coğrafya eğitiminin yeri ve önemi
Abstract
Özel Organik tarım, çevresel, ekonomik ve sosyal faydalarıyla öne çıkan bir tarım uygulamasıdır ve bu araştırmanın odak noktası, coğrafya öğretiminin sürdürülebilir organik tarıma katkısını incelemektir. Bu araştırmada coğrafya eğitimi ile organik tarıma bakış arasındaki ilişki ve coğrafya eğitimin organik tarıma katkısı ele alınmıştır. Türkiye’nin organik tarım açısından önemli potansiyeli bulunmasına karşın yeterli ilgi görülmemektedir. Bu çalışmanda Türkiye'nin coğrafi özellikleri açısından organik tarıma olan ilginin coğrafya eğitimi ile farkındalığın kazanılması hedeflenmektedir. Organik tarım doğal kaynaklar ve iklim ile insan faktörünün etkisinde olması nedeniyle coğrafya eğitimin gerekliliği ön planda yer almaktadır. Organik tarımın coğrafya eğitimine entegrasyonunun öğrencilerin çevre bilinci, tarımın yerel ve küresel etkileri hakkında derinlemesine anlayış geliştirmelerine yardımcı olduğunu göstermektedir. Araştırma sonuçları, organik tarımın coğrafya derslerinde kullanılmasının öğrenci motivasyonunu artırdığını ve sürdürülebilir tarımın önemini vurguladığını ortaya koymaktadır. Bu bağlamda, organik tarımın coğrafya eğitiminde daha fazla yer alması, öğrencilerin çevresel ve tarımsal konularda bilinçlenmesine ve sürdürülebilirlik ilkelerini benimsemesine yardımcı olabilmektedir
This research aims to examine the contribution of geography teaching to sustainable organic agriculture. Organic agriculture is an agricultural practice that stands out with its environmental, economic and social benefits, and the focus of this research is to examine the contribution of geography teaching to sustainable organic agriculture. In this research, the relationship between geography education and the perspective on organic agriculture and the contribution of geography education to organic agriculture are discussed. Although Turkey has significant potential in terms of organic agriculture, there is not enough interest. The aim of this study is to draw attention to the interest in organic agriculture in terms of Turkey's geographical characteristics through geography education. Turkish and international sources contain the results of research conducted in various academic publications and universities. Findings show that the integration of organic agriculture into geography education helps students develop environmental awareness and in-depth understanding of the local and global impacts of agriculture. Research results reveal that the use of organic agriculture in geography courses increases student motivation and emphasizes the importance of sustainable agriculture. In this context, including organic agriculture more in geography education can help students become aware of environmental and agricultural issues and adopt sustainability principles.
