Abstract
Ofset baskı ticari basılı matbuat üretiminde en çok kullanılan; 1904 senesinde Amerikalı Ira W. Rubel tarafından icatedilmiş baskı yöntemidir. Diğer temel baskı sistemleriyle karşılaştırıldığında, yüksek miktarlı ve kaliteli baskıların ekonomik olaraküretildiği baskı sistemi olarak söylenebilir. Ofset baskı kalıplarının, basan ve basmayan yüzey yapısı, geleneksel ofset baskınınsürdürülmesinde anahtar bir özelliktir. Alüminyum kalıp yüzeyinde yağ ve suyun birbiriyle karışmaması prensibi üzerine çalışır.Dünyadaki teknolojik gelişmelere bağlı olarak basım teknolojileri de geliştirilmiş ve değiştirilmiştir. Çalışmada ofset baskının 3 temelünitesi olan nemlendirme ünitesi, mürekkep ünitesi ve baskı ünitesi ve bunlara ait temel kavramların Türkçe açıklamaları sisteminşeması üzerinde gösterilmiştir. Ofset baskı sistemine ait teknik terimlerin bugüne kadarki kullanımında bazen yabancı dildeki haliyleaynen kullanılmış, bazen de tam karşılığı bulunamayarak kullanan kişiler kendi anladığı ve yorumladığı şekilde tercüme etmişlerdir.Mesleki yayınlar incelendiğinde; ofset baskıya ait bazı teknik terimlerin anlamı dışında, yanlış anlaşılmalara neden olabilecek şekildekullanıldığı belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışmada; ofset baskı sisteminin şeması özel olarak çizilerek şema üzerinde nemlendirme, mürekkepve baskı ünitelerinin temel teknik terimleri numaralandırılarak gösterildi. Bu terimlerden; alver merdane, vargel merdane, sürücümerdane, transfer merdanesi, form merdaneler, nemlendirme suyu haznesi, su hazne merdanesi, dağıtıcı merdane gibi terimlerinTürkçe anlamlarının doğru olarak açıklaması yapılarak; tercüme, üretimle ilgili teknik yazışmalar, özellikle de yayın ve araştırmaçalışmalarında bir dil birliğinin sağlanmasına katkı yapmak amaçlanmıştır. Bu terimlerin İngilizce karşılıkları da verilmek suretiyleTürkçeye çevirilerde tercümanlara yardımcı olması beklenmektedir.

The printing and non-printing surface structure of offset printing plates is a key feature in sustaining traditional offset printing. It works on the principle that oil and water do not mix with each other on the aluminum mold surface. Depending on the technological developments in the world, printing technologies have also been developed and changed. In the study, the 3 basic units of offset printing, dampening unit, ink unit and printing unit, and Turkish explanations of their basic concepts are shown on the schematic of the system. The technical terms of the offset printing system were sometimes used exactly as they were in the foreign language, and sometimes the exact equivalent could not be found, and the users translated them as they understood and interpreted. Examining professional publications; It has been determined that some technical terms of offset printing are used in a way that may cause misunderstandings, apart from their meaning. In this study; the schematic of the offset printing system was specially drawn and the basic technical terms of dampening, ink and printing units were numbered on the schematic. Of these terms; By correctly explaining the Turkish meanings of terms such as ductor roller, distribution or oscillator roller, rider roller, transfer roller, form rollers, dampening solution pan, fountain pan roller, metering/oscillator roller; It is aimed to contribute to the provision of a language unity in translation, technical correspondence related to production, especially in publication and research studies. It is also aimed to assist translators in translations into Turkish by giving the English equivalents of these terms.
