Birleşik Arap Emirlikleri’nde inşaat sektörü ve 2008 krizi sonrası Türk inşaat şirketlerinin sektördeki yeri

Abstract

BİRLEŞİK ARAP EMİRLİKLERİ’NDE İNŞAAT SEKTÖRÜ VE 2008 KRİZİ SONRASI TÜRK İNŞAAT ŞİRKETLERİNİN SEKTÖRDEKİ YERİİnşaat sektörü hemen her ülkede ekonominin lokomotifi ve temel dinamiği olarak ifade edilmektedir. Bu sebeple inşaat sektörü, ekonomide yaşanan durgunluklardan, değişimlerden ve kriz durumlarından en kolay şekilde etkilenen sektörlerin başında gelmektedir. Bu tez çalışması kapsamında, Birleşik Arap Emirlikleri’nde (BAE) inşaat sektörünün incelenmesi ve ülkede faaliyet gösteren Türk inşaat şirketlerinin 2008 krizi sonrasındaki durumunun analiz edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. BAE nüfusunun çoğunluğu yabancı göçmenlerden meydana gelmektedir. Ancak yabancılar ülkede doğrudan şirket kuramamakta, mutlaka yerli bir firma ile ortaklık yapma zorunluluğu içerisindedir. Aynı durum inşaat sektörü için de geçerlidir. 2008 krizi öncesinde hem Türk inşaat şirketleri hem de diğer yabancı şirketler BAE’de pek çok inşaat projesini üstlenmiştir. Ancak elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda, 2008 krizi sonrasında BAE inşaat sektöründe Türk inşaat firması sayısının, üstlenilen proje miktarının ve toplam proje bedelinin azalmış olduğu neticesine ulaşılmıştır.

CONSTRUCTION SECTOR IN UNITED ARAB EMIRATES AND PLACE OF TURKISH CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES IN THE SECTOR AFTER 2008 CRISISConstruction sector is identified as the locomotive and main dynamics of economy in almost all countries. Thus, construction sector is one of the principal sectors affected by economic recessions, changes and crisis situations easily. Within the scope of this thesis study, it was aimed at investigating construction sector in United Arab Emirates (UAE) and analysing the situation of Turkish construction companies operating in UAE after 2008 crisis. The population of UAE consists of foreign immigrants in general. However, foreigners could not establish any company directly, and they have to get into partnership with a local company. The same situation is valid for construction sector. Before 2008 crisis, both Turkish construction companies and other foreign companies undertook lots of construction projects in UAE. However, according to the findings of the study, the result that the number of Turkish construction companies, undertaken projects and the value of total projects decreased after 2008 crisis has been reached.
