Denetim odakları farklı yükseköğretim gençliğinin sorunları ve başaçıkma yöntemleri

Abstract

DENETİM ODAKLARI FARKLI YÜKSEKÖĞRETİM GENÇLİĞİNİN SORUNLARI VE BAŞAÇIKMA YÖNTEMLERİ ÖZET Bu araştırmanın ana amacı, Yükseköğretim gençliğinin denetim odaklarına göre sorunlarının ve bu sorunlarla başaçıkma yöntemlerinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırma ilişkisel tarama modelinde hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi'nin sekiz fakülte ve bir yüksekokul olmak 34 bölüme devam eden 1246 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada verileri toplamak için, araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Yükseköğretim Gençliği Sorun Tarama Listesi, Yükseköğretim Gençliği Sorunlarla Başaçıkma Ölçeği ile Rotter tarafından geliştirilen ve Dağ tarafından Türkçe'ye uyarlanan Rotter İç-Dış Denetim Odağı Ölçeği olmak üzere toplam dört ayrı ölçme aracı kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verileri çözümlemek için; frekans, yüzde, aritmetik ortalama, KayKare, Bağımsız Grup t-testi, Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi ve LSD tekniği kullanılmıştır. Yükseköğretim gençliğinin sorunları incelendiğinde en çok belirtilen sorun ekonomik sorunlar olup, bunu sırasıyla toplumsal sorunlar, insanlar ile ilişkilerdeki sorunlar, politik sorunlar, psikolojik sorunlar, eğitim öğretim ile ilgili sorunlar, aile ile ilgili sorunlar, karşı cins ile ilişkilerdeki sorunlar, serbest zaman değerlendirme/ kültürel etkinlikler ile ilgili sorunlar, temel ihtiyaçlar/ fiziksel ortam ile ilgili sorunlar, gelecek ile ilgili sorunlar, felsefi sorunlar, kişisel sorunlar, psikotik sorunlar, beden sağlığı/ estetik kaygı ile ilgili sorunlar izlemiştir. Yükseköğretim gençliği karşılaştıkları sorunlarla başaçıkmada en yüksek değere sahip alt ölçek edilgen yöntemler olup, bunu sırasıyla, önemsememe davranışı etkin yöntemler ve saldırgan davranışlar alt ölçekleri izlemiştir. Yükseköğretim gençliği denetim odakları açısından incelendiğinde, dıştan denetimli olan öğrencilerin oranı içten denetimlilere göre daha yüksek olarak bulunmuştur. Denetim odakları farklı yükseköğretim gençliğinin eğitim öğretim ile ilgili sorunlar ve kişisel sorunlar boyutlarında anlamlı fark bulunmuştur. Denetim odakları farklı yükseköğretim gençliğinin sorunlarla başaçıkmada kullandıkları yöntemler arasında tüm alt ölçeklerde anlamlı farka rastlanmıştır. THE PROBLEMS OF HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH THAT HAS DIFFERENT LOCUS OF CONTROLS AND COPING METHODS

The main purpose of this study is to determine the basic problems of the youth in high school and their coping methods with these problems according to locus of controls. In this study the survey method was used. The sample of the study included 1246 students from 8 faculties, one high school-totally 34 department in Yıldız Technical University. In order to collect data, the researcher designed Personal Information Form, The Problems of High School Youth Survey List, Coping Methods Scale of High School Youth. The researcher also used Rotter Internal-External Locus of Control Scale which was adopted into Turkish by Dağ. To analyse data, frequency, percentage, mean, chi-square, Independet t-test and One-Way ANOVA and LSD technique were used according to characteristics subcategories and variables. According to research findings, the major problem of the students is economical problems, respectively, social problems, problems in interpersonal relations, political problems, psychological problems, educational problems, parental problems, problems with opposite sex, problems of free time activities/ cultural activities, problems of basic needs/ physical environment, problems related to future, philosophical problems, personal problems, psychotic problems, body heath/ aesthetic problems followed this. When all sub-scales analysed, passive methods was rated the highest followed by neglective behaviour, active methods and aggressive behaviours subscales. When high school youth analysed according to locus of control, it was found that the percentage of externally controlled students is higher than the internally controlled students. When the difference between problems of the high school youth having different locus of control analysed, significant difference was found between sub-scales educational problems and personal problems. When the coping methods of high school youth having different locus of controls was examined, significant difference was found in all sub-scales. The problems, the coping methods, the locus of control of high school youth independent variable analysed, a significant difference was found between gender, faculty, department, class, day-night group, age, accomodation variables, parental attitude, parental income level.
