Abstract
SINIFTA İSTENMEYEN DAVRANIŞLARA KARŞI ÖĞRETMENLERİN DİSİPLİN UYGULAMALARIYLA İLGİLİ İLKÖĞRETİM 5. SINIF ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN GÖRÜŞLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ Bu araştırmada sınıfta istenmeyen davranışlara karşı öğretmenlerin disiplin uygulamalarıyla ilgili ilköğretim 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin görüşleri incelenmiştir. Araştırma mevcut durumu tespit etmeyi amaçladığından, tarama modeli olarak düzenlenmiştir. Nicel bir araştırmadır. Araştırmanın uygulaması İstanbul ili, Bağcılar ilçesindeki İstiklal İlköğretim Okulu, Çekmeköy ilçesindeki Öğretmen Melahat Hüdai Gürbüz İlköğretim Okulu, Kadıköy ilçesindeki Özel Çevre Koleji, Sultanbeyli ilçesindeki Anafartalar İlköğretim Okulu, Ümraniye ilçesindeki T.E.V. Zahide Zehra Garring İlköğretim Okulu, Üsküdar ilçesindeki Yıldırım Beyazıt İlköğretim Okulu ve Özel Biltek Koleji olmak üzere 6 ilçedeki toplam beş devlet, iki özel okuldaki öğrenciler üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmaya 902 öğrenci katılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen ‘Kişisel Bilgiler Formu’ ve ‘Öğrenci Görüşleri Formu’ kullanılmıştır. Sınıfta istenmeyen davranışlara karşı öğretmenlerin disiplin uygulamalarıyla ilgili ilköğretim 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin görüşleri, cinsiyet, anne eğitim durumu, baba eğitim durumu, ailenin gelir durumu, sınıf mevcudu, akademik başarı, anne mesleği, baba mesleği, okul türü, okulun bulunduğu ilçe değişkenlerine göre incelenmiştir. Bu incelemeler sonucunda aşağıdaki bulgular elde edilmiştir: _ Sınıfta istenmeyen davranışlara karşı öğretmenlerin disiplin uygulamalarıyla ilgili öğrenci görüşlerinin, cinsiyete göre belirgin farklılık göstermediği tespit edilmiştir. _ Anne ve babaların eğitim seviyesi yükseldikçe, sınıf disiplini ile ilgili öğrencilerin, çağdaş disiplin uygulamalarını benimseme oranlarının yükseldiği tespit edilmiştir. _ Ailelerin gelir düzeyi yükseldikçe, sınıf disiplini ile ilgili öğrencilerin, çağdaş disiplin uygulamalarını benimseme oranlarının yükseldiği tespit edilmiştir. _ Sınıfta istenmeyen davranışlara karşı öğretmenlerin disiplin uygulamalarıyla ilgili öğrenci görüşlerinin, sınıf mevcuduna göre değişiklikler gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. _ Akademik başarı yükseldikçe, sınıf disiplini ile ilgili öğrencilerin, çağdaş disiplin uygulamalarını benimseme oranlarının yükseldiği tespit edilmiştir. _ Sınıfta istenmeyen davranışlara karşı öğretmenlerin disiplin uygulamalarıyla ilgili öğrenci görüşlerinin, anne ve baba mesleklerine göre değişiklikler gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. _ Özel okulda öğrenim gören öğrencilerin devlet okulunda öğrenim gören öğrencilere göre, çağdaş disiplin uygulamalarını benimseme oranlarının daha yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. _ Sınıfta istenmeyen davranışlara karşı öğretmenlerin disiplin uygulamalarıyla ilgili öğrenci görüşlerinin, okulun bulunduğu ilçeye göre bazı farklılıklar gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. INVESTIGATION OF PRIMARY 5 CLASS STUDENTS’ VIEWS ABOUT THE DISCIPLINE IMPLEMENTATION OF TEACHERS AGAINST BEHAVIORS IN THE CLASSROOM This research is the investigation of primary 5 class students’ views, about the discipline implementation of teachers, against undesired behaviors in the classroom. Research is designed as a screening model, because of intending to determine the current situation. Research is quantitative. Research is applied on students at five states and two private schools. These schools are İstiklal Primary School in Bağcılar District, Öğretmen Melahat Hüdai Gürbüz Primary School in Çekmeköy District, Private Çevre College in Kadıköy District, Anafartalar Primary School in Sultanbeyli District, TEV Zahide Zehra Garring Primary School in Ümraniye District, Yıldırım Beyazıt Primary School in Üsküdar District and Private Biltek College. 902 students are joined in this research. ‘Personal Information Form’ and ‘Student Feedback Form’ was used in this research and data collection tool developed by the researcher. Primary 5 class students’ opinions, about the discipline implementation of teachers, against unwanted behaviors in the classroom is examined gender, mother education level, father education level, family income, class size (number of students in class), academic achievement, parents occupation, types of school and the school district. As a result of this examination the following experimental evidence obtained: _ It is determined that there is no significant difference according to sex on students views about the discipline implementation of teachers against undesired behaviors in the classroom. _ It is identified that rates of adaptation of modern disciplinary practices increases, when the educational level of parents get higher. _ It is identified that rates of adaptation of modern disciplinary practices increases, when the family income level gets higher. _ It is determined that there is some changes according to size of class (number of students in the class) on students views about the discipline implementation of teachers against unwanted behaviors in the classroom. _ It is identified that rates of adaption of modern disciplinary practices increases when the academic achievement gets higher. _ It is determined that there is some changes according to parents occupation on students views about the discipline implementation of teachers against undesired behaviors in the classroom. _ It is identified that students attending to private school has more adaption rates of modern disciplinary practices comparing to students studying in the public schools. _ It is determined that there is some changes according to location of the schools on students views about the discipline implementation of teachers against unwanted behaviors in the classroom. the education, classroom management.
