Publication: Okul kütüphanelerinin bilgi okuryazarlığına etkisi
Abstract
Bu çalışma, değişen eğitim değerleri içinde okul kütüphanelerinin önemini ve okul kütüphanelerinin bilgi okuryazarı birey yetiştirmedeki görev ve sorumluluklarını ortaya koymak üzere yapılmıştır. Araştırmada, eğitim sistemi içinde okul kütüphanesinin rolü, okul kütüphaneleri için ideal durumlar ve bilgi okuryazarlığı ile okul kütüphanesinin ilişkisi üzerinde durulmuştur. Araştırma kapsamında kullanılan yöntemler; belgesel kaynak analizi, ve betimlemedir. Veri toplama tekniği olarak da anket çalışması ile gözlem yapılmıştır. Araştırmada, okul kütüphanesinin 21. yüzyıl eğitim sistemindeki yeri ve önemi incelenirken; bilgi okuryazarlığı süreci ve günümüz toplumunda taşıdığı değer ortaya konulmuştur. Ayrıca okul kütüphanesinin bilgi okuryazarı birey yetiştirme misyonu gözler önüne serilmiş okul kütüphanesi-bilgi okuryazarlığı ilişkisi netleştirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda Türkiye’de, eğitim ile okul kütüphanesi arasında organik bir bağın olmadığı gözlemlenmiştir. Ayrıca Türkiye koşullarında okul kütüphanelerinin bilgi okuryazarı birey yetiştirmede yeterince başarı sağlayamadığı sonucuna varılmıştır.
This research has been conducted to point out the significance of school libraries concerning the changing educational values and the responsibilities these libraries have in raising knowledgable literate individuals. This research focuses on ; the role of school libraries within the education system, the ideal situations for school libraries and the relationship of knowledge literacy with school libraries. The methods used during the research are; documentary source analysis and description. Observation and questionnaire tecniques are implemented for gathering data. In this research, while the place and importance of school libraries in the 21st century is being observed; the process of knowledge literacy and its value in nowadays society is also made visible. Moreover, the mission of raising knowledgable literate individuals is highlighted and the relationship between school libraries and knowledge literacy is made seemingly clear. As a result of the research, it is found out that, in Turkey, there is not any organic relation between school libraries and education. What is more, concerning the conditions in Turkey, the result that school libraries are not successful in raising knowledgable literate individuals is reached.
