Onkoloji hemşirelerinde cinsel bakıma ilişkin tutum, inanç ve engeller: Tanımlayıcı araştırma

Abstract

ÖZET Amaç: Bu çalışma, onkoloji hemşirelerinin cinsel bakıma ilişkin tutum, inanç ve engellerin belirlenmesi amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak yapıldı. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Tanımlayıcı tipte olan araştırma, Ocak 2020-Haziran 2020 tarihleri arasında İstanbul Anadolu Yakası’nda bulunan toplam 4 farklı eğitim ve araştırma hastanelerinin onkoloji kliniklerinde çalışan 136 hemşire ile yürütüldü. Verilerin toplanmasında \"Hemşire Tanılama Formu\" ve \"Cinsel Tutum ve İnanç Ölçeği\" kullanıldı. Veriler yüz yüze görüşme yöntemiyle toplandı. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler, bağımsız 2 grup t-testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi testi kullanıldı. Bulgular: Hemşirelerin Cinsel Tutum ve İnanç Ölçeği ortalama toplam puanları 39±10’dur. Meslekte çalışma süresi 1-3 yıl olan erkek hemşirelerin, Cinsel Tutum ve İnanç Ölçeği puanları daha yüksek saptandı. Cinsel sağlık eğitimi alan, hastaların cinsel sorun yaşadığını düşünen, hastalarına cinsel sağlık konusunda danışmanlık veren, cinsel sağlık konusunda eğitim ihtiyacı olduğunu düşünen hemşirelerin Cinsel Tutum ve İnanç Ölçeği puanlarının daha düşük olduğu bulundu. Hasta, hemşire ve sağlık sistemi ile ilişkili faktörlerin hemşirelerin cinselliği sorgulamalarını engellediği belirlendi. Sonuç: Onkoloji hemşirelerinin cinsel bakıma ilişkin tutum ve inançlarının orta düzeyde olduğu bulundu. Hemşirelerin kanser hastalarının cinsel sorunlarıyla baş etmelerine yardımcı olma konusundaki engeller olarak \"eğitimli personelin, uygun görüşme ortamının, yeterli zamanın olmaması, hasta isteksizliği ve iş yükü fazlalığı\" belirlendi

ABS TRACT Objective: This descriptive study was conducted to determine the attitudes, beliefs and barriers of oncology nurses towards sexual care. Material and Methods: The descriptive study was conducted with 136 nurses working in the oncology clinics of 4 different training and research hospitals on the Anatolian side of İstanbul between January 2020 and June 2020. “Nurse identification form” and “Sexual Attitude and Belief Scale” were used to collect data. Data were collected by face-to-face interview method. Descriptive statistics, two independent groups t-test and one-way analysis of variance test were used to evaluate the data. Results: The mean total score of the nurses’ Sexual Attitude and Belief Scale was 39±10. Sexual Attitude and Belief Scale scores were found to be higher in male nurses with 1-3 years of employment. It was found that the Sexual Attitude and Belief Scale scores of the nurses who received sexual health education, who thought that the patients had sexual problems, who counseled their patients on sexual health, and who thought that they needed education on sexual health, were lower. It was determined that factors related to patients, nurses and the health system prevented nurses from questioning sexuality. Conclusion: It was found that oncology nurses’ attitudes and beliefs about sexual care were at a moderate level. Helping nurses cope with the sexual problems of cancer patients as barriers to being “trained personnel, suitable interview environment, adequate lack of time, patient reluctance and excess workload” were determined.
