Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide. Terminally ill cancer patients and their families often have some exceptional physical, psychosocial, and spiritual symptoms. Experts who provide care to these patients and their families should widen their assessments to guarantee physical and psychosocial comfort and to detect objectives of care and social and spiritual causes of suffering. Here, some problems frequently faced in dying cancer patients in the last days or weeks of life will be discussed. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2016.
