Temettuat defterleri çerçevesinde koçana/ üsküp kazasının sosyal ve ekonomik yapısı

Abstract

TEMETTUAT DEFTERLERİ ÇERÇEVESİNDE KOÇANA/ ÜSKÜP KAZASININ SOSYAL VE EKONOMİK YAPISI 19.yy’da Osmanlı Devleti’nde Tanzimat fermanı ile birlikte bir takım mali ve iktisadi ıslahatlar yapılmıştır. Bu yenilikler çerçevesinde 1844 yılında yapılan tahrirler sonucu Osmanlı toplumunda hanelerin emlak, arazi ve gelirleri, ödedikleri vergiler ile birlikte temettuat defterlerine kaydedilmiştir. Bu çalışmada, 19.yy’da Osmanlı Devleti Üsküp Eyaleti, Köstendil Sancağı, Koçana kazasının temettuat defterleri incelenerek Koçana kazasının sosyal ve ekonomik yapısı irdelenmiştir. Koçana’nın gelir dağılımı Gini katsayısı ve Lorenz eğrisi kullanılarak hesaplanmıştır. Koçana kazasında Gini katsayısı 0,44 olarak bulunmuştur. Bunun yanı sıra, Koçana’da 42 ayrı meslek olduğu belirlenmiş ve nüfusun %55,6’sının ziraat ile geçimini sağladığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Koçana kazasında hanelerin ortalama geliri 529,7 kuruştur. Ayrıca pirinç ve tütün yetiştiriciliğinin oldukça yaygın olduğu anlaşılmıştır.

SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC SITUATION OF KOCANA/ USKUP TOWN WITHIN THE FRAME OF TEMETTUAT RECORDS In 19th century, some financial and economic reorganization was performed with Reform Declaration (Rescript of Gülhane). In the framework of these reforms real estates, lands and incomes of households of Ottoman society were registered in title temettuat books together with taxes they paid according to regulations made in 1844. In this study, we have examined title temettuat books of Koçana town of Köstendil city of Skopje Eyalet in Ottoman State and social and economic structure of Koçana town has been searched. Income distribution of Koçana was calculated by using Gini coefficient and Lorenz curve. Gini coefficient was found to be 0.44 in Koçana. Moreover, it has been determined that there were 42 profession groups in Koçana and 55.6 % of the population worked in agricultural sector. Average income of families in Koçana was 529.7 Kuruş. It has also been understood that rice and tobacco cultivation was widespread in Koçana.
