Değişen toplumda spor ve din

Abstract

Kökleri insanlık tarihine kadar uzanan din ve spor, geçmişten günümüze her toplumun hayatında çeşitli biçimlerde yer alan iki olgudur. Dinin toplumsal hayatı belirleyici ve yönlendirici temel bir unsur olduğu dönemlerde diğer faaliyetler gibi sportif faaliyetler de dinden bağımsız değildir. Fakat yaşanılan süreçte toplum yapılarında görülen bir dizi değişim bu iki olgunun konumlarını farklılaştırmıştır. Seküler dünya tasavvuru dinin hem geniş işlevleri hem de toplumsal iç yapısında köklü bir dönüşüme uğramasında etkili olmuştur. Böylelikle din, toplumsal hayatın tamamını kuşatma gücünü kaybetmiştir. Spor da bu süreçten etkilenmiştir. Önceleri meşruiyetini dini referanslarla sağlayan ve dini bir ritüel şeklinde gerçekleştirilen sportif faaliyetler, tarihsel süreç içerisinde bu görünümlerini kaybetmişlerdir. 20.yüzyıldan itibaren modern spor, artık geçmişteki bedensel aktivitelerden ayrılarak yeni ve özgün bir olgu haline gelmiştir. Sosyal süreç içerisinde din ve sporun konumlarındaki değişmeler, kişilerin bu olgulara yaklaşımlarında da etkili olmuş ve bakış açılarını farklılaştırmıştır. Bu araştırma ile sosyal değişme sürecinde din ve spor arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemeye ve özellikle kantitatif boyutuyla bu ilişkileri görünür kılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu çerçevede günümüz sporunun din ile kısmen çatışma arz eden bir faaliyet olduğu, bunun da modern sporun dinden bağımsız bir biçimde geliştirilmiş olan tarz, kural ve giysilerden kaynaklandığı görülmüştür. Spor ve din ile farklı düzeylerde ilişki içinde olan kişiler dini inançlarını değişen oranlarda spora taşımaktadırlar. Religion and sport whose roots go forward to the humanity history are the two facts which take part in every society life with various types from old till today. In the terms which religion was the main element that was the determiner and director towards the society life, the sportic activities such as the other activities aren't free off the religion either. But in the period that was left a line of changings which were seen in the society blocks had made the situation of these two facts different. The secular world conception had been effective about that the religion became into a strong changing on both its large movements and inside of its society part. Thus, religion had lost its strength of surrounding the whole society life. Sport had also been effected by this period. The sportic activities which had provided their strength with the religious referances firstly and had been done as a religious habit had lost these their sight-seeings during the historical period from the 20 th century till today, modern sport had left from the phsical activities in last ages and became a new and original fact. In the social period, the changes about religion and sport had been effective on that people's approach to these facts and had changed their sight-seeings. With this search, it had been worked to determine this contact between religion and sport during the period of the social changing and to make these contacts able to be seen especially with their canditative dimension. In this situation, sport in these days was an activity which shows a fight with religion. This was also seen that was caused the modern sport whose styles, rules and clothes which had been developed different and free from religion. People who are in a contact with sport and religion in different levels have been carrying their religious beliefs in to the sport.
