İstanbul Mihrimah Sultan Camileri kalemişi programı

Abstract

XVI. yüzyıl Osmanlı Devleti’nin zirve yıllarıdır. Devletin askeri, siyasi, ekonomik ve sosyal alanlarda güçlendiği bu dönemlerde en güzel mimari örnekler var edilmiştir. Yine bu yüzyılda inşa edilen birçok eser, dönemin en önemli mimari Mimar Sinan’ın imzasını taşımaktadır. Mimar Sinan başta İstanbul olmak üzere Osmanlı Devleti sınırlarında, birçok şehirde eser bırakmıştır. Bu çalışmada İstanbul’un iki farklı kıtasında yer alan ve Sinan tarafından inşa edilen Mihrimah Sultan Camilerinin kalemişi bezemelerinin fotoğraf, çizim ve detaylı analizlerle incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Konu sınırlandırması yapılırken bu dönem içerisinde inşa edilmiş yapılar arasında benzerlik gösteren camiler dikkate alınmıştır. Araştırmayı çarpıcı kılan en önemli özelliklerden biri, seçilen yapıların aynı ismi taşımasıdır. Kalemişi bezemelerini bu iki yapı üzerinden inceleyerek hem konu sınırlandırması yapılmış hem de dönemin mimari ve bezeme üsluplarını incelerken karşılaştırmalı bir anlatım sunmak hedeflenmiştir. Bu doğrultuda çalışmanın ismi “İstanbul Mihrimah Sultan Camileri Kalemişi olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışmanın temelini oluşturan Mihrimah Sultan Camileri kalemişi bezemeleri öncelikli olarak tarafımca fotoğraflanmıştır. Çekimlerin tamamlanmasının ardından benzer yapı unsurlarında yer alan mevcut kalemişi bezemelerinin detaylı çizimleri ve analizleri yapılmıştır. Analizleri tamamlanan desenler kompoziyon, tasarım, motif ve renk açısından incelenmiştir. Bu sayede benzerlik ve farklılıklar tespit edilerek kıyaslamalı bir anlatım yapılmasının, aynı ismi taşıyan bu iki farklı yapıyı daha anlaşılır hale getireceği düşünülmektedir.

The 16th century represents the peak years of the Ottoman Empire. During this period, when the state strengthened in military, political, economic, and social domains, some of the most exquisite architectural examples were created. Many of the structures built in this century bear the signature of Mimar Sinan, the most prominent architect of the time. Mimar Sinan created works in many cities within the borders of the Ottoman Empire, especially in Istanbul. This study aims to examine the kalemişi (painted ornamental) decorations of the Mihrimah Sultan Mosques, located on two different continents of Istanbul and constructed by Sinan, through photographs, drawings, and detailed analyses. While determining the scope of the study, the construction time of the mosques and the similarities in design were taken into consideration. One of the most striking aspects of the research is that the selected structures bear the same name. By examining the kalemişi decorations through these two buildings, the study not only narrows its focus, but also aims to provide a comparative narrative of the architectural and ornamental styles of the period. In this context, the title of the study has been determined as “The Kalemişi Program of the Mihrimah Sultan Mosques in Istanbul.” The kalemişi decorations of the Mihrimah Sultan Mosques, which form the basis of the study, were primarily photographed by the author. Following the completion of the photography, detailed drawings and analyses of the existing kalemişi decorations on similar structural elements were carried out. The analyzed patterns were examined in terms of composition, design, motif, and color. In this way, it is considered that identifying similarities and differences and presenting them in a comparative manner will make these two distinct structures bearing the same name more comprehensible.
