Publication: The Impact of Downsizing Practices on Self-Efficacy
Abstract
Son zamanlarda, araştırmacılar tarafından en çok işlenen konu şirket küçülmeleri ile işten çıkarılmayanların yaşadıkları arasındaki ilişki olmuştur. Ancak, küçülme ile öz yeterlilik arasındaki ilişki üzerinde pek durulmamıştır. Bu çalışma, dikkatli hazırlanmış ve uygulanmış küçülme stratejisinin işten çıkarılmayanların öz yeterliliği üzerindeki etkisini araştırmak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma, son yıllarda küçülme sürecinden geçmiş çeşitli şirketlerde çalışanlara anket dağıtılarak uygulanmıştır. Regresyon analizi sonucunda, küçülme stratejisi uygulayan şirketlerde karar verme sürecine katılan çalışanların genel öz yeterlilik seviyesinin arttığı bulunmuştur.
In the literature, while many studies analyze the relationship between downsizing and survivor syndrome, none investigate the relation between downsizing and self-efficacy. The present research examines the impact of carefully planned and implemented downsizing strategy on the general self-efficacy of employees whose employment has not been terminated. The research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to the employees of different organizations that had recently experienced downsizing. Stepwise regression analyses indicated that if the employees participated in downsizing strategy decisions, their level of general self-efficacy increased.
