Abstract
Amaç: Bu çalışma toplumun hemşirelik mesleğine yönelik imaj algısını belirlemek amacıyla sistematik derleme deseninde yapıldı.
Yöntem: Literatür taraması; Pubmed, Cochrane, EBSCO Host, Ulakbim Medical, Science Direct ve Türk Medline veri tabanlarında yapıldı. Taramada ‘Toplumdaki hemşirelik imajı’, ‘Toplumda hemşirelik imaj algısı’, ‘Hemşirelik mesleğinin imajı’, ‘Hemşirelik ve toplumsal imaj’ anahtar kelimeleri kullanıldı. Makalelerin özelliklerini ortaya koymak amacıyla araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan Veri Toplama Formu, makalelerin raporlama özelliklerini belirlemek için PRISMA Kontrol Listesi kullanıldı. İki araştırmacı birbirinden bağımsız olarak ulaşılan makalelerin raporlama kalitesini değerlendirdi. Çalışmaya 2008-2018 tarihleri arasında Türkçe ve İngilizce dillerinde tam metin olarak yayınlanmış, katılımcıları18 yaşından büyük, konusu “Toplumda hemşirelik mesleğine yönelik imaj algısı” olan araştırmalar dahil edildi. Katılımcıları hemşirelik mesleği mensubu ya da hemşirelik bölümü öğrencisi olan, araştırma deseni derleme olan ve tam metnine ulaşılamayan araştırmalar çalışma dışı bırakıldı. Literatür taraması sonucunda 3046 araştırmaya ulaşıldı. Çalışmamızın konusu ile ilgili araştırma sayısı 61 idi. Çalışma kriterlerine göre dört araştırma çalışmaya dahil edildi.
Bulgular: İncelenen araştırmalarda, hemşirelik mesleğinin toplum tarafından, toplum sağlığında önemli bir yere sahip olan, doktorlar tarafından istenen tıbbi tedavileri yapan, doktorların isteklerini yerine getiren, uzun çalışma saatleri olan ve düşük ücretli yardımcı bir meslek olarak algılandığı görüldü. Bununla birlikte, katılımcıların hemşirelik mesleğini etkili kişilerarası ilişkilere sahip bir meslek olarak tanımladıkları saptandı. Tıp fakültesi öğrencilerinin hemşirelik mesleği mensuplarının kendilerine bağımlı, güvenilir ve iyi teknik becerilere sahip olmaları yönünde beklentileri olduğu bulundu.
Sonuç: Literatür taraması sonucunda hemşirelik imajına yönelik araştırmaların çoğunun hemşireler ya da öğrenci hemşireler üzerinde yapıldığı görüldü. Hemşirelik mesleği ile ilgili olmayan katılımcılar ile yapılmış araştırmalarsa az sayıdadır. İncelenen araştırmaların sonuçlarına göre, hemşirelerin görev ve sorumluluklarının toplum tarafından tam olarak anlaşılmamıştır. Hemşirelik mesleği hala toplum tarafından bir yardımcı meslek olarak algılanmaktadır. Bu konuda daha fazla araştırma yapılması ve bu sonuçlara göre gerekli düzenlemelerin yapılması önerilmektedir.

Objective: This research was carried out to determine the perception of image of the society on nursing profession. Method: Pubmed, Cochrane, EBSCO Host, Ulakbim Medical, Science Direct and Turkish Medline databases were used in the literature review. These keywords were used in literature review; the image of nursing in the society, image of nursing image in the society, image of nursing profession, nursing and social image. In order to reveal the characteristics of the articles, the Data Drawing Form prepared by the researchers was used. PRISMA Checklist was used to determine the reporting characteristics of the articles. Two researchers evaluated the quality of reporting independently of each other.Published as full text in Turkish and English languages studies on "Perception of image of towards nursing profession in the society" were performed between the years 2008-2018 with participations over age 18 were included in this research. The studies which had designed as review and were not published as full text were carried out with participations who were nurses and nursing students were not included in this study. As a result of the literatur review 3046 studies were reached. The number of studies related to the study topic was 61. According to the research criteria, four studies were included in the research. Findings: In the studies examined, it was seen that nursing was perceived by the society as a profession that has an important place in society health, performs the medical treatment ordered by physicians, carries out physicians demands, has long working hours and low-paid assistant rofession. In addition, it was found that participants defined the nursing as a profession which has effective interpersonal relationships. It was also found that there were the medical faculty students expectations that the members of the nursing professions will be members who are dependent on them, have reliable and good technical be reliable and have good technical skills. Conclusion: As a result of the literature review it was seen that most of the studies on nursing image were carried out on nurses or student nurses. The few studies were performed with participants who were not related to nursing proffesion. According to the results of the researches examined, the duties and responsibilities of the nurses were not fully understood by the society. Nursing profession is still perceived as a assistant profession by the society. It is recommended that more research should carry on this subject and according to the results the necessary arrangement needs to be done.
