DOSTLUK NEDEN BİR AHLÂK FELSEFESİ KONUSUDUR?

Abstract

Bu makalede, İlkçağ ve Ortaçağ ahlâk felsefesi eserlerinde dostluk kavramınınneden konu edildiği, söz konusu eserler bağlamında incelenmekte ve dört temelnedenin mevcut olduğu iddia edilmektedir. Dostluğun; insan fiillerine ilişkinbir durum olması, erdem olarak tanımlanması, insan mutluluğuna ve ahlâkî ol-gunlaşmaya katkıda bulunması nedenleriyle bir ahlâk felsefesi konusu oluşu te-mellendirilmeye çalışılmaktadır. Ahlâkî olgunlaşmaya dostluğun katkısı ise tekdeğil birkaç yönden olmaktadır. Dostun bir ayna gibi olup kişiye kendi ahlâkîdurumunu yansıtması, kişiye ahlâkî zaaflarını görmekte doğrudan yardımcı ola-bilmesi ve aradaki sevgi bağı nedeniyle dosta karşı erdemli fiiller yapmaya teş-vik etmesi gibi yönler, bu makalede söz konusu eserler çerçevesinde anlatılmayaçalışılmıştır.

This article is an attempt to explain the reasons of inserting the friendship notion into the Primeval and Medieval works of moral philosophy. It offers that there are four reasons that have been elaborated in these books: Friendship is all about human actions, it has been defined as a virtue and it makes contributions to human happiness and moral perfection. The contributions of friendship to moral perfection is not only in one way, there are also three different ways, such as that friendship is a kind of mirror to show moral deficiencies of the person in direct and indirect way, encourages people to act virtuous actions to their friends. These ways of contribution also has been discussed in the article.
