Abstract
TÜRK MODERNLEŞMESİ ÖNCÜLERİNDEN FUAT KÖPRÜLÜ: HAYATI, ESERLERİ VE FİKİRLERİ Tezde Fuat Köprülü’nün başta ilmi hayatı olmak üzere, özellikle tarihçi kişiliği, II. Meşrutiyet ile Cumhuriyet idaresi altında hoca ve siyaset adamı olarak karıştığı olaylar, Türk modernleşmesi bağlamında dile getirdiği görüşleriyle birlikte bir bütün halinde incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Temel olarak üç bölümden müteşekkil olan çalışmanın giriş kısmı Fuat Köprülü’nün hangi ortam ve eğitim politikaların bir ürünü olduğu sorusuna cevap niteliği taşımaktadır. birinci bölümde hususen müellifin ilmi hayatı verdiği belli başlı makale ve eserlerinin tahlili bir incelemesiyle tetkike konu oldu. İkinci bölümde ağırlıklı olarak tarihçiliği üzerinden nasıl bir metod takip ettiği ortaya çıkarılmak istenmiştir. Son kısımda da Türk Modernleşmesi bağlamında dile getirdiği eleştiri, teklif vs. dile getirilmiştir.
This thesis deals, first of all, with the life of Fuat Köprülü together with especially his historian side, the events that Köprülü was involved with as a scholar and a politician in the Second Constitutional and Republican Periods, and his thoughts that he expressed in the context of the Turkish modernization. This work is mainly composed of three chapters. The introductory chapter seeks to find out the circumstances and the educational policies in which Fuat Köprülü lived and was raised. In the first chapter, his scholarly activities were examined through the analysis of his certain books and articles. The second chapter explores the historical methodology that he adopted in his works. The final chapter focuses on his criticisms and suggestions over the Turkish Modernization.
