Mesleki ve teknik liselerde görev yapan öğretmenlerin internet kullanım profili

Abstract

Bilim ve teknolojideki tüm değişim ve gelişmelere yön veren ve aynı zamanda bu değişim ve gelişmelerden yararlanarak kendini geliştiren süreç eğitimdir. Tüm alanlarda olduğu gibi, eğitim alanında da en önemli teknolojik araç internettir. Dünyada gün geçtikçe daha fazla insan internetle tanışmakta ve etkin birer internet kullanıcısı olmaktadır. İnsanlar için bulundukları çağı yakalamanın, yeniliklerden haberdar olmalarının yolu hızlı ve kolay iletişim kurma ve bilgi sağlama aracı olan internetten geçer. Küreselleşen dünyada varlığını ifade edebilmek ve söz sahibi olmak isteyen toplumlar, internetin gerekliliğini benimseyerek ve her alanda özellikle eğitim alanında gerektiği şekilde internet kullanımını sağlayarak her zaman birkaç adım önde yer alacaklardır. İnternetin sunmuş olduğu hızlı ve kolay bilgi edinebilme olanağının yanı sıra iletişim alanında sunduğu kolaylıklar mevcuttur. İnsanlar birbirleriyle çok kolay ve hızlı olarak elektronik posta yoluyla iletişim kurabilmektedirler. Farklı ortamlardaki öğretmen – öğrenci arasında, öğretmen – öğretmen arasında ve öğrenci – öğrenci arasında iletişim kurmak internet aracılığıyla çok kolaylaşmıştır. Teknolojinin gelişimi ile birlikte öğretim yöntemlerinde değişiklikler olmaktadır. Geleneksel olarak adlandırabileceğimiz birçok öğretim yöntemi yerini kısmen Bilgisayar Destekli Eğitim ve Uzaktan Eğitime bırakmaktadır. Bilgisayar destekli eğitim sayesinde sunumlar çok daha etkili olmakta ve görsel olarak öğrencilerde daha kalıcı öğrenmeler gerçekleşmektedir. Uzaktan eğitimde de görsellik ön plandadır ve bununla birlikte uzaktan eğitimin sunmuş olduğu en önemli özellikleri farklı zaman ve mekanlarda öğrenmenin gerçekleşmesine olanak sağlamasıdır. Eğitimde teknolojilerin etkin kullanımı için ilk olarak öğretmenlerin aktif olarak teknolojik araçları kullanmaları sağlanmalıdır. Özellikle teknolojinin sunmuş olduğu en son yenilik olan internetin öğretmenler tarafından aktif kullanımının sağlanması önemlidir. Öğrencilerini bölümleriyle ilgili iş alanlarına ve güncelliği çok yakından takip eden endüstriye ara eleman olarak yetiştiren mesleki ve teknik lise öğretmenlerinin internet kullanım profilleri önem taşımaktadır. Öğretmenlerin teknolojinin sunduğu olanaklardan yararlanması için hizmet – içi eğitimlerle teknoloji kullanımı konusunda eğitilmeleri gerekmektedir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, mesleki ve teknik lise öğretmenlerinin internet kullanım profilini belirlemek; yani interneti ne kadarıyla tanıdıklarını, interneti kullanım düzeylerini, interneti hangi amaçlarla kullandıklarını, öğrencilerini internet kullanmaya teşvik etme düzeylerini belirlemektir. Ayrıca mesleki ve teknik liselerin internet kullanımı için gerekli alt yapıya ne kadarıyla sahip olduğu ve bunun öğretmenlerin kullanımına sunulup sunulmadığının belirlenmesi de amaçlar arasındadır. “Mesleki ve Teknik Liselerde Görev yapan Öğretmenlerin İnternet Kullanım Profili”ni belirlemek amacıyla yapılan bu araştırmada mesleki ve teknik liselerdeki meslek öğretmenlerine, araştırmanın verilerini oluşturması amacıyla geliştirilen anket uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın evreni İstanbul’da bulunan mesleki ve teknik liseler olup, örneklem ise bu evrenden tesadüfi örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenerek elde edilen, 21 farklı ilçedeki toplam 28 mesleki ve teknik liselerden oluşmaktadır. Uygulamanın yapıldığı tüm okullarda toplam 498 öğretmenin ankete katılımı sağlanmıştır. Uygulamada elde edilen verilerin istatiksel bulgularından elde edilen sonuçlar; bayların bayanlara göre; gençlerin yaşlılara göre; bekarların evlilere göre; yeni öğretmenlerin kıdemli öğretmenlere göre;

bilme seviyeleri yüksek olanların az olanlara göre; bilgisayar kullanma düzeyleri yüksek olanların az olanlara göre internet kullanımlarının üst düzeyde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Belirlenen sonuçlardan da yola çıkarak öneriler oluşturulmuştur. ABSTRACT The period that shows direction to the all the changes and developments in science and technology and also that improves itself benefitting from these changes and developments is education. As well as in all the fields the most important technological object in the education field is internet. Day by day more people are introducing the internet and being active internet user. The way to catch the time existing and to be aware of newcoming things is internet which is the fastest and easiest thing to communicate and to collect data. Communities which want to state theirselves existing and to be strong in the global world, will accept the need for internet and by providing the internet usage especially in the education field as it should be,will be some steps forward from the others. As well as getting the data fast and easily, internet has more advantages like for the communication field. Very easily and fast people can communicate with each other, by electronic mails. Between the student and the teacher, teacher and teacher or student and student who are in totally different places, it is very easy to communicate by the internet. By the time technology is developing, there are so many changes about the teaching ways. Several teaching ways which we can call traditional, is partly replacing with Computer Supported Education and Distance Education. By the Computer Supported Education, the presentations are much more effective and the students are learning the things much more permanent visually. In the Distance Education again the visuality is in the front row and also the most important feature of the Distance Education is that it can provide learning in different times and different places. To use the technologies actively in education first of all the teachers should be provided using the technological objects actively. It is very important that the teachers using especially internet which is the newest thing that technology brought. The internet usage profile of technical and vocational high school teachers who are preparing their student as technician for the job fields that is related to their department in the school and for industry which is following the actuality, is very important. To make use of the possibilites of technology, teachers should be educated about using the technology by on-the-job training. The aim for this research is to define the internet usage profile of technical and vocational high school teachers, which is meaning that to find out how much they know about internet, what is their level for using the internet , for what they are using the internet, how they are encouraging their students for using the internet. Besides to define if the technical and vocational high schools have the necessary infrastructure for internet using and if this is put into service for the teachers’ using. In this research which is prepared for defining “The Internet Usage Profile Of Technical and Vocational High School Teachers”, one survey is applied to form the datas of the research. The universe of the research is the in technical and vocational high schools Istanbul and the sample is 28 technical and vocational high schools from 21 different districts which are chosen from the universe by random sampling method. In all the schools that this execution is applied, totally 498 teachers are requested to participate to the survey. The results that are obtained from the statistical findings state that, men are in the higher level from the women, as well as the young ones from the old ones, singles from the married ones, the ones with high-level English knowledge from the ones with low-level, the ones with high computer skills from the ones with low skills. Using these results defined, the offerings are applied.
