Sanat ve interaktif telekomünikasyon dijital çoklu iletişim teknolojileri ile yaratılan sanat eserleri bağlamında bedenin mekan ve zamanda çoklu varoluşu

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, telekomünikasyon teknolojilerinin, dijital ağlar boyunca sanatsal bir pratik olarak ele alınabileceği düşüncesini araştırmaktır. İletişim görsel, sessel, analog veya dijital olsun fark etmeksizin sanat var olduğu sürece farklı anlamlar ve formlarda belirmeye devam edecektir. 20. yüzyıl sanatçısının süreçleri ve interaktivite kavramını sanat eserlerine dahil etmesinden sonra, sanatta mesafe kavramı iletişim ve Telepresence teknolojisiyle yeni bir bakış açısıyla ele alınmaktadır. Dijital ağlarla sarılan ve hızlanan global dünyada maddesellik, işlevsellik ve bilme biçimleri eleştirilirken, zamanmekân algısı değişime uğrar. Daha önce bu konu hakkında Türkiye’de sanat bakımından detaylı bir çalışma yapılmamış olması vesilesiyle, Telepresence kavramının, Telepresence sanatının, dijital iletişim teknolojilerinin ne olduğu, türleri ve ne gibi potansiyellere sahip olduğu ele alınmıştır. Tez süresince farklı düşünürlerin eleştirilerine yer verilmiş olup araştırma sonucunda öznel çıkarımlar ortaya konmuştur. Çalışmanın ilk aşamasında modern dünyada telekomünikasyon ve sanat ilişkisi, ağ toplumu, ağ teorisi, kolektif sanat ve interaktif sanat eserleri tartışılmıştır. İkinci bölümde Telepresence sanatı ve telepistemoloji kavramı ele alınırken, fenomenoloji, epistemoloji ve farklı düşünce ve bilim alanlarıyla ilişkileri incelenmiştir. Gerçeklik kavramının immateryalizasyon, sanal alem, immersion gibi 20. yüzyıla damgasını vuran gelişmeler ışığında yeniden okuması yapılmış olup sanat anlayışının hem bilme biçimlerimize hem de gerçek hayattan bağımsız olamayacağı fikri sanat eserleri bağlamında tartışılmıştır. Son bölümde Telepresence, siberdünya ve beden etkileşimini sanat biçimi olarak ortaya koyan sanatçılar ve eserleri değerlendirilmiştir. Beden’in dönüşen anlamları sanal gerçeklik, ağ, Telepresence ve fenomenoloji bağlamında incelenmiş olup, dijital sanatta ele alınma biçimleriyle yeni anlamlar kazandığı ifade edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucuna göre, dijital ağlar ve Telepresence teknolojileri gerçekliği ve sanatı anlamlandırma biçimlerimizi etkilemiştir.

The aim of this study is to explore the idea that telecommunications technologies can be considered as an artistic practice across digital networks. Regardless of whether communication is visual, audio, analog or digital, as long as art exists, it will continue to appear in different meanings and forms. After the 20th century artist included the concept of processes and interactivity in their works of art, the concept of distance in art is discussed from a new perspective with communication and telepresence technology. While materiality, functionality and ways of knowing are criticized in the global world, which is surrounded and accelerated by digital networks, the perception of time-space undergoes changes. Since there has not been a detailed study on this subject in terms of art in Turkey before, the concept of telepresence, the art of telepresence, digital communication technologies, their types and their potential are discussed in this Master thesis. During the thesis, the criticisms and perspectives of different thinkers were included and subjective inferences were revealed as a result of the research. In the first stage of the study, the relationship between telecommunications and art in the modern world, network society, network theory, collective art and interactive artworks are discussed. In the second part, the art of telepresence and the concept of telepistemology are discussed, while their relations with phenomenology, epistemology and different fields of thought and science are examined. The concept of reality has been evaluated in the light of developments that marked the 20th century such as immaterialization, virtual world and immersion, and the idea that the understanding of art cannot be independent from both our ways of knowing and real life has been discussed in the context of works of art. In the last section, the artists and their works that reveal the interaction of telepresence, cyber world and body as an art form are evaluated. Transforming meanings of the Body have been examined in the context of virtual reality, network, Telepresence and phenomenology, and it has been stated that it gains new meanings with the way it is handled in digital art. According to the results of the study, digital networks and Telepresence technologies have affected the way we make sense of reality and art.
